In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.

She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.

The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.

She handed out the checks herself.

In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.

When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.

You've probably heard that part.

Here's the part you haven't:

The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.

Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.

She built her county an entire hospital.

She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.

In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.

Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.

In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.

And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.

She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.

She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.

Lindsey Graham is dead at 71. Back in 2016, he challenged the public with a simple request: "Use my words against me." Today, those words are impossible to ignore.

The facts are straightforward. Graham died Saturday evening at his home in Washington after what his office described as a brief and sudden illness. He served four Senate terms, chaired both the Judiciary and Budget Committees, and spent decades shaping U.S. foreign policy.

Almost immediately, the tributes began. Donald Trump praised him as a "true American patriot." Benjamin Netanyahu called him a cherished friend. Many memorials will celebrate his years of service.

What many won't discuss is the record he left behind.

In December 2015, Graham labeled Donald Trump a "race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot." A few months later he added, "I think he's a kook. I think he's crazy." In May 2016 he warned: "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed... and we will deserve it." At the time, he wouldn't even support Trump's candidacy.

Then Trump won.

Soon, Graham transformed from one of Trump's sharpest Republican critics into one of his closest allies, defending the very man he had once condemned.

John McCain was Graham's closest friend. Trump publicly mocked McCain's military service while he was alive and continued attacking him after his death. Graham mourned McCain on the Senate floor, yet remained firmly aligned with the president who repeatedly insulted his friend's legacy.

In 2016, Graham insisted that if a Supreme Court vacancy occurred during an election year, the next president should make the appointment. He repeated that promise in 2018, even saying, "Hold the tape." Yet in October 2020, as chairman of the Judiciary Committee, he pushed Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation through just days before the presidential election.

After the 2020 election, Georgia's Republican secretary of state said Graham had questioned whether legally cast absentee ballots could be rejected. Graham denied wrongdoing, challenged the subpoena issued by the grand jury, and ultimately lost that legal fight.

On January 6, after the attack on the U.S. Capitol, Graham declared, "Count me out. Enough is enough." Before long, he had returned to standing alongside Trump.

Throughout his career he strongly supported the Iraq War. In his final weeks, he also remained one of the Senate's strongest advocates for Ukraine, spending his last day abroad alongside President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.

Every public life contains contradictions. Graham's certainly did.

But perhaps the defining contradiction was this: he recognized Trump before much of his party did, described him in unmistakable terms, then spent years becoming one of his most loyal defenders.

He once asked America to use his own words against him.

History will decide whether that request has now been fulfilled.

BREAKING: French Senator Claude Malhuret TORCHES Trump and his alcoholic, drug-addicted administration on the floor of the Luxembourg Palace: "Every time the Epstein affair resurfaces, bombs explode somewhere in the world and cause a distraction!"

This might be the greatest MAGA takedown of all time. Nobody was spared...

"A year ago, here in France, I compared Trump's presidency to Nero's Court. I was wrong. It's the miracle court. An anti-vaxxer, former heroin addict as Minister of Health," he said, referring to RFK Jr.

Malhuret's comparison to the mad Emperor Nero is fitting. It's said that he fiddled while Rome burned. In Trump's case, he's building a ballroom while the entire world goes up in flames.

"A climate-skeptic Minister of Economy. An alcoholic TV host, Minister of the Armed Forces," Malhuret continued, referring to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

"An old Qatar agent, Minister of Justice. A groupie of Putin, Minister of National Security," Malhuret went on, referring to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Bondi previously worked for the Ballard Partners firm which raked in $115,000 a month by lobbying on behalf of Qatar.

"A Turkish proverb says 'When a clown settles in a palace, he does not become king, it is the palace that becomes a circus," said Malhuret. "His fine team has decided to create a competitor to the UN. Since the creation of the Board of Peace, Trump has triggered more military strikes than Biden during his entire term."

"Every time the Epstein affair resurfaces, bombs explode somewhere in the world and cause a distraction," he continued. "Bomb more to win more."

This is how the world now sees the American president: as a pedophile desperately exploiting his role as commander-in-chief to obscure the fact that he preyed on children with his long-time pal Jeffrey Epstein.

"There isn't a single country where Trump did not take advantage of the situation to enrich himself without ever forgetting his family. A Boeing plane offered by Qatar," he said, referring to the $400 million jet that Qatar "gifted" to Trump. "Investment in all Gulf projects or elsewhere. Stock market manipulation that only a few insiders benefit from."

"Any one of these conflicts of interest would have caused an immediate procedure of impeachment here," Malhuret. "But we are not here. We are in MAGA's America where public business is conducted in favor of private interests."

Rarely have we heard such an exhaustive yet succinct distillation of the Trump administration's rampant criminality and incompetence. By focusing on individual Cabinet members and what makes them uniquely unfit for office and then expanding the aperture to the broader patterns of corruption and malignancy, Malhuret delivered a master class in political messaging.

Every mainstream outlet in the U.S. should be running this speech to show Americans what the world thinks of our leaders.

Let’s have a clear-eyed and honest conversation about corruption in our elections. Real corruption.

Lobbying, done right, is not the problem. Farmers have associations. Small businesses have advocates. Industries need to be able to share expertise with lawmakers so we make smart policy.

The problem is when certain lobbyists signal to lawmakers that their corporate bosses will funnel unlimited, often hidden money into super PACs that flood our elections with attack ads.

They say campaigns and super PACs don’t coordinate, because that would be illegal. But turn on the TV. Listen to the attack ads. The messaging is the same. Word for word.

My race is no different.

America One has dumped over two million dollars into Arkansas attacking me.

Who’s paying for it?

Defense contractors? Tom Cotton chairs the Intelligence Committee.

Companies building data centers? Tom Cotton introduced the DATA Act.

We don’t know. The people of Arkansas can’t get the accountability that we deserve as citizens of a democracy.

I’ll ask the simple question.

Who is this system working for?

Because it’s not working for Arkansas.

Not when our largest industry is collapsing.
Not when our other industries are weakening.
Not when families are stretched to the breaking point.

Arkansans deserve a government that works for them. Not one bought and paid for by outside money.

I will fight to get dark corporate money out of our politics, but we can only do that if corporate crony Tom Cotton is booted out of our state forever.

And Tom, if you have something to say to me, come say it to my face instead of hiding behind corporate donors and super PAC attack ads.

Come to Arkansas for a change. Debate me. Face the people of Arkansas.
