Our Lead Concept Artist is a fan of @erling and wanted to give him a Spartan shoutout before today's match with this amazing art.
Who are you backing in the World Cup?
while the id layoffs have been deep, I understand the changes haven’t turned id into a support studio. Instead, they’re now in the early stages of a new Doom game
Latest id software updates
-Frankfurt studio loses 50% of staff
-USA studio will not become a support studio despite the cuts they will continue making games like always
-id software’s next game is a new DOOM game
-DOOM will be id’s focus moving forward

Our report is now being confirmed by other outlets.
id tech team in Europe is unaffected and Microsoft confirms that id tech will continue to be used moving forward
However the USA id tech team is still decimated
⚠️ A hotfix has been deployed to DOOM: The Dark Ages on PlayStation 5 and will deploy on XBOX, Microsoft Store, and Battle .net once they pass Cert.
We appreciate your patience --please stay tuned here for updates!

10/10 - id Software poured their heart and soul into what I believe is the best Doom experience ever, and a true celebration of DOOM 🔥
- The Spear adds so much depth to the combat. It's incredible.
- Exploration feels so rewarding this time around, with secrets being hidden on the map. There's also so many things to find in each level, especially during the end-game portion of the DLC.
- Visuals are as good as ever.
- The best narrative in any Doom game. I loved how the cutscenes were a mix of how they were in 2016 and The Dark Ages. The codices are VERY well written. There were also multiple moments in the story that I didn't expect at all, in the best ways possible.
- The pacing throughout the entire DLC is goddamn near perfect.
- The bosses were undoubtedly the best in the entire franchise.
- I personally think @fnshing_move made THE BEST soundtrack in the modern Doom trilogy. Some of the ambient tracks hit me right in the feels, and the combat music goes so incredibly hard that I can't even describe it.
Wow.
I don't know what the future holds, but from the bottom of my heart,
Thank you to everyone at @idSoftware, past and present ❤️
What's worse about the layoffs at ID Software is that DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations is by far the greatest piece of DOOM content the studio has ever produced, and instead of celebrating this milestone, here we are all in utter disbelief.
What a damn tragedy.
