@0xDavecryps Perhaps your question reveals a deeper answer.
Perhaps those billionaires know, or believe, that their money does more good for humanity invested in projects that generate goods and services.
Perhaps they belive those projects would fail or be delayed without their capital.
@reprinted3D@StephenFleming Unless I'm expecting a call from an unknown number, I generally answer the call and don't say anything.
If the caller identifies themself without being promted I might respond, otherwise silence as long as the caller cares to stay on the line.
@stevebouff@775Garage It's not an FSD bug, but it is a UI design error.
This is the kind of poor choice that is easy to make and hard to foresee in a design review.
Once pointed out you might do a face palm, but so long as you don't dig in your heels and deny the problem I'll give you a pass.
@cabsav456 The LA race might have been predominantly fair, but people will continue to distrust results until it is clear to them that elections can not be subverted.
Isn't election reform worthwhile for that reason alone?
@esherifftv Good luck.
As a parent and grand parent I'd just advise you to get as much sleep as you can.
The first couple months can be rough, but your baby will let you get the rest you need soon.
Hang in there.
@LEarthcrawler@SawyerMerritt Thank goodness for your post.
I doubt anyone at SpaceX or any outside financiers have even considered those points.
It's too bad we spend billions of dollars at our successful private firms without weighing obvious problems.
@memechaotic I understand that the speeding drivers are breaking the law, but if there are no children present the vigilante is breaking the law too, and not protecting anyone. Actions like that could cause an accident.
@Handre Banks create money?
Sort of.
1) Joe deposits $100. He still has that $100.
2) The bank lends $90 to Bill using most of the money from Joe. Bill has $90 and Joe still has his $100 in the banks books.
3) Bill deposits $90 at a bank.
4) That bank lends $81 to Jill.
And so on...
@AbakpaJob The size of the gates in Jurassic Park suggests the owners thought those giant gates would impress their guests.
Let's see, should we spend money to improve the ambiance of our park or to allow the main attraction to escape and kill our customers?
Tough choice.
@sleepy_devo A normal person in 1995 probably did want USAID dismantled.
Most/many people termed far right today don't want NATO dismantled, absolute presidential immunity, or corruption.
