will be extremely unlikely we can stop Earth's temperature from rising by 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) and kicking off a dangerous medley of global disasters."

COMITTED TO >3C ŴITHIN 10 YEARS
Used to be there was slack in the global warming time line. The slack is just about used up!
"The study, led by scientists in the United Kingdom and Netherlands, claims that in 2035, we will cross a point of no return — after which it
FORGET 1.5C
Even the reluctant folks are starting to agree - 1.5C is no longer a useful goal. It has been exceeded and will recede further and further from being achievable with co2 reduction strategies. In other words, the future of humanity
It is not so urgent and fixing it so expensive" and the greenhouse gas concentrations just keep on stolidly going up making the hole we are in deeper and deeper! The long game is brutally effective it seems. #climateCrisis
NATURE PLAYS THE LONG GAME!
If climate change were rapid I think mankind could better mobilize to avert it. But it is slow enough to take the wind out of sudden rises in interest and so we oscillate again and again between "OMG! We are all going to die!" and "ah,
WHERE IS THE HOPE IN THAT, INDEED?
Hope is overrated! And overused. Certainly when it comes to the climate crisis. The politics of hope is about luring us to focus on the promise of the future instead of on the challenges in the present,”.
STILL GETTING WORSE FASTER THAN EVER
The rate at which greenhouse gases are being added to the atmosphere remains higher than ever despite tiny efforts to do carbon dioxide removal. And given that Trump will in charge for the next four, expect US emissions to burgeon
during this period. Perhaps when a climate mega disaster occurs mankind will course correct. But it may be too late by then for high quality living for the masses.

ECONOMIC IMPACT OF GLOBAL WARMING
We are playing with fire and apt to get burned. How seriously is TBD,
"Inaction or inadequate action to contain climate change could disabilise the entire global
economic system, leading to unimaginable consequences, say the researchers."
CARBON SINKS FAILING?
The land and the oceans have been sopping up co2 on our behalf forstalling and muting global warming. Strong indications now that the land is all full up and global warming will be accelerating. Bad news for us humans!

ELECTION ALL ABOUT PRIVILEGE
I have listened to various folks discussing the upcoming election and it jumps out at me that that the unspoken yet ever present question is how does the outcome affect my perceived privilege level in society. A win for Trump
screams white male privilege is endorsed despite the defects in the Trump candidacy. A win for Kamala announces that the US is moving toward merit versus race and gender based assessment. Hoping for the noble outcome!
