Of the 1,387,069 UK homes no longer listed for sale since the 1st Jan 2024, 743,269 or 54% exchanged & completed according to @LettingsChris. That means that 643,800 (46%) were withdrawn from the market, unsold.
@johnestevens We have seen catastrophic levels of QE. Since the covid-19 outbreak the BoE has announced £300bn of QE purchases. QE causes inflation. Holders of the pound become poorer. This is the Sunak "magic money". But perhaps "magic money tree" should be replaced with "magic money hole"?

@business High inflation is being caused by govt policy, not excessive consumer spending. Its being caused by excessive money printing (chancellors Osborne and Sunak), high wage increases in the government sector, and excessive taxation (e.g. 12% green taxes plus VAT on energy bills).
