AUSTIN WOMAN hid in a Core Power studio locker room until class started, then went cubby to cubby stealing wallets, credit cards, and IDs from women while they were on their mats.

Police say Zenaida Rivas hit the yoga studio West 5th for months, even after the studio banned her in January. On another day, cameras caught her waiting outside until an employee stepped out of the lobby, then walking in and pulling a purse and a wallet from two cubbies. One victim lost a Moschino wallet, three cards, her Tesla key card, and her driver's license. Rivas used another victim's ID and credit card to book a room at a Hilton.

When UT police arrested her in November for refusing to leave a Target and hiding merchandise on herself, she was carrying two other women's driver's licenses. She had three outstanding warrants at the time.

APD detectives kept building cases until nine felony arrests accumulated -- credit card abuse, ID fraud, burglary, etc.

On a single day in February, DA Jose Garza's office declined to file ALL NINE. The County Attorney (Delia Garza) dismissed the theft case that same day. And her orders to stay away from the victims were lifted.

Two months later, police say she broke into someone's home. Bond was set at $2,500. Last month she was arrested for burglary again.

Last week, a judge found her incompetent to stand trial.

She already had three assault convictions, including family violence, and two revoked probations.
