Executive Director @CivicHelpers - Former NY State Assemblymember - 93rd Assembly District (2013-2020) & Former White Plains Common Council Member (2010-2012)
We have launched a one-page informational flyer to get the word out to as many New Yorkers as possible about Civic Helpers being there to solve the problems they face with government bureaucracies. Please share widely!
Did no one at the New York Times have the common decency to realize that today’s (April 17th, 2026’s) edition of the Midi crossword is shaped like a swastika? @NYTGames
@DertyDave18@uckey_@JakeBrownLive At that rate, no, but if traffic and parking continue to be a big problem, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine 100 people (or many more) wanting to take a given shuttle route.
@uckey_@JakeBrownLive Or, alternatively, at a fixed time, like 2 and a half hours after the game start time. A lot of this depends on how many bus loads of riders they have from a given location. It will be interesting to hear how traffic and parking go today (vs. Opening Day).
@DertyDave18@JakeBrownLive I rarely leave early, but those who take a car/subway/LIRR/ride share/etc. don’t face this. If the shuttle is meant to substitute for driving, then some flexibility, especially if there are multiple shuttle buses and many riders who want to leave early on a given day, is in order
In my first term in the State Assembly, I had a big success on behalf of @HarrisonCSD. Cathy had a lot to do with that - so too did the fact that the issue affecting Harrison schools also impacted New York City schools. 😀 Cathy was a pleasure to work with.
Saddened to hear of my former colleague Cathy Nolan’s passing. She was a fighter in the best sense of the word, and she combined it with a warm heart - a great and effective combination.
Former Assembly Member Cathy Nolan has passed away, per Speaker Carl Heastie. In a statement, he called her "a dedicated public servant and a trailblazer." Nolan repped western Queens for nearly four decades in a seat now held by Claire Valdez
Following guidance from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, Westchester County will institute a complete road ban beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, Sunday, February 22, through 10 a.m. Monday, February 23.
The road ban is being implemented due to hazardous winter weather conditions expected overnight, including heavy snowfall and high winds. Roads are closed to all but essential travel (police, fire , EMS, utility/public works and hospital/medical personnel).
Residents should stay off the roads during this time period to allow emergency crews and road treatment teams to operate safely and effectively. Travel conditions are expected to be treacherous to impossible, particularly during the overnight hours.

@golfzaga @HappyLemon_17 @espn I appreciate your belief that Yale will be Ivy League champs this year, and therefore will be in the tournament. I appreciate less your trying to get me to root against Gonzaga, though you are doing a pretty good job of it.
@golfzaga @HappyLemon_17 @espn No need to rag on Yale men’s basketball in your defense of the Zags. Yale’s team is one of only two in the country (the other is Duke) with 10 wins.
#FCSPlayoffs final:
Yale 43
#15 Youngstown State 42
Yale with an incredible comeback, erasing a 42-14 deficit midway through the 3rd to beat YSU in its FCS playoff debut
