Warren Buffett's idea - to withhold Congress' pay until the Federal budget is balanced - is clever, but not realistic. The budget is too far gone to be balanced in a salary year. It will, unfortunately, take many years.
Instead, I'm proposing a phased plan:
🧵
Not of this world.
Christian, your Kingdom is not an earthly nation. Your Kingdom is Jesus Christ’s - a spiritual one, which will become a physical one when our King creates for us a new heaven and a new earth.
I didn’t say election is a prideful position, I said that hardline five-point Calvinism is a prideful position. The position is
1. Only “the elect” can receive Christ
2. I am one of “the elect”
3. If you disagree, then you are not
That is rooted in pride
Personally, I believe that salvation involves a convergence of God’s sovereignty and human responsibility. I cannot explain it. But I know that God chose me before the foundations of the world, while I also freely chose to follow Jesus.
What if instead of a vaccine we just were able to get exposed to a weak version of the virus that enabled us to build the antibodies we need to fight the real thing
@tjpacc@DineshDSouza “Yet Christ chose us.”
Awfully convenient to be the “chosen ones” and still somehow claim it’s not a prideful position.
Again, never met a non-Christian Calvinist. It would be interesting to meet someone who believes in Calvinism who does not claim to be on of “the elect.”
