@TeamNithya So you don’t actually care about film workers in LA but yet you want our votes? Being dismissive & rolling your eyes at things that don’t directly affect you until they do, not a good look.
@lescarletwoman I imagine there is a shift in branding strategy by calling AI just “Intelligence,” giving weight to the name to justify discussion of different cost structures compared to how we perceive AI today, mostly accessible & often free.
@lescarletwoman He’s talking about AI & having products that can do basic tasks at cheaper costs vs AI in a robot that can do say high end mathematics for building rockets, which would cost more. In the 90s people couldn’t understand why we would ever need email. Not everything is evil.
@emerywells If he can beat out Raman in the runoff I think he will actually have a shot. His message is being heard & it really is basic common sense politics. Looking at things at a true local level, not being interested in aligning with anyone for party politics. The message is all local.
Had a chance to work with Kyle on a commercial for NASCAR & Fox Sports, very down to earth, super nice guy. Sad to see someone this young go too soon. RIP.
We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.
Not sure if this will get Bass the 2 democrat run-off that she had hoped for. The path for Pratt to win is slim, but will Raman’s supporters just swing their votes to Bass if Raman is knocked out?
After the fires, Nithya Raman literally voted against my proposal to hire 227 more firefighters and slow-walked permit fee relief for 10 months.
I have been the one in the community — streamlining permitting, cutting red tape, and holding insurance companies and banks accountable.
Now over 500 homes are under construction and another 1,200+ permits have been issued.
The City of Los Angeles homelessness budget was $967.9 million in the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
The city permanently housed 7,396 homeless people that year — $130,868 per person.
That's 59% more than the median household income in LA ($82,263).
@LukeBarnett And the constant finger pointing to each other as to why it couldn’t be fixed, yet weeks ago Raman endorsed Bass before entering the race & both were saying how crucial each other would be to the growth of LA. Make it make sense.
@CapitalF@LukeBarnett At the end of the day, it has to be the right person for the job. Party affiliation means very little to me, but their policy & what they stand for, their beliefs, their character, track record in either private or public sector.
@CapitalF@LukeBarnett Sure & that’s fine in what matters to you. I don’t disagree there. The topic based on Luke’s original question was all I was really responding to. If someone could run on a party ticket but not really have the same level of beliefs as said party.
@CapitalF@LukeBarnett Bernie isnt a bad guy, but he knew a Presidential candidate in the Independent category can’t win, even though he is a registered Independent. If I’m not mistaken Trump wasn’t a registered member of the Republican Party when he announced & it wasn’t until he won the nomination.
@CapitalF@LukeBarnett Still isn’t a member of the party & the Democrats don’t accept him as a member but someone who is willing to work with them. My comment aligns with the idea that Hillary was a Dem & that’s why the party chose her to rep the party against Trump in ‘16 vs Bernie.
The Democratic Party needs to do better. This is sad. Bass praised Raman right up until two weeks ago when Raman became a serious contender. Neither of them are serious at their jobs. Look at their track records while in office. The Dems Party needs to get back to the center.
The SOHA mayoral debate between Mayor Karen Bass and CM Nithya Raman got real contentious from the start. Here's a clip of Raman responding to Bass going after her for also being in charge of what's been happening in the city as a member of the council.
