@Birthright_play@finborough Brilliant revival at the Finborough. T C Murray, an unjustly forgotten playwright, concentrates more dramatic power in one hour than others would take two. Excellent ensemble cast. Not to be missed.
@NationalTheatre Has to be The Shaughraun. It was a revelation to see how the drum could both change the setting and add pace to the play, (seemingly!) so effortlessly. A worthy tribute also to the playwright’s own dramatic effects a century earlier.
@NationalTheatre RSC’s 1973 production of Richard II with Richard Pasco and Ian Richardson. And for NT, The Shaughraun was a marvel of acting and spectacle, with brilliant use of Olivier Theatre revolve.
