He doesn’t have the luxury of normal democratic conditions like institutional fairness, media plurality, financial parity, and the rule of law that is applied equally.
I write ✍️
Still, @RahulGandhi has chosen to fight with what might seem the most inadequate of weapons: moral clarity, ideological consistency, and human empathy.
@Ram_Guha Ramchandra Guha, after terrible decision to support Modi in 2014, now, searches for another messiah. He risks repeating the error: demanding perfection from an opposition leader who is overcoming unfair limits, with hands tied, facing constant hardships and battling the elements. Guha fails to recognise these chains and fetters.
It takes tremendous courage to be democratic in the absence of democratic space. To stand up for an idea knowing fully well that there is huge personal cost to be paid for it.
Rahul Gandhi knows that he will be attacked and vilified. He knows his supporters will be attacked and vilified. But he still fights on. His approach can best be described in the words of Kabir, who understood about the nature of moral commitment in a hostile world:
कबीरा खड़ा बाज़ार में, मांगे सबकी खैर।
ना काहू से दोस्ती, ना काहू से बैर।।
कबीरा खड़ा बाज़ार में, लिए लुकाठी हाथ।
जो घर फूँके आपना, चले हमारे साथ।।
Dictatorial systems do not allow democratic functioning to proceed on level terms. If someone is standing firm within such a system, refusing to be broken or bought or diverted, there has to be a reason rooted in the quality of their leadership.

All sorted, now it’s time to work and defeat Modi in 2029.
We are heading into a 2004-like moment, and history is about to repeat itself in 2029.
Congress will form the government, and the BJP’s defeat will be far bigger than most people expect. This time, they may lose power in a way that makes a comeback extremely difficult.
This is destiny, and no one can change it.
The ideological clarity of our leader @RahulGandhi is the clearest today among all opposition parties.
Every true Congress supporter follows that ideological clarity and there will never be any compromise on ideology.
That’s why I support Rahul Gandhi in this war against our Constitution and our democratic values. Modi is deeply scared of Rahul; he’s panicking, and it’s a good sign.
Yes, I’m a journalist, and don’t give me that “journalists should be neutral” argument. These are not ordinary times.
I like Rahul, but I’m unbiased. I’ll call him out if he’s wrong. Check my timeline; I often criticize his party. But what can I do about him? He personally doesn’t make such mistakes. He’s not spreading hate messages or using derogatory words for his opponents. Also what he says today tends to come true tomorrow. He is unlike your hollow politicians.
AAP collapsed within one year of losing power.
TMC is collapsing within one month of losing power.
Congress has survived and fought BJP even after losing power 12 years ago. Even after BJP and Modi going relentlessly against our leadership.
That’s the power of ideology. That’s the power of an uncompromising and strong leader like Rahul Gandhi whose popularity is growing day by day.
He is the only one who can defeat Modi and BJP. And he will do so in 2029 in a straight fight with Modi.
No pretenders left to create confusion. It will be a crystal clear ideological and vision battle.
Dear Prime Minister,
I am writing to request for a debate in Parliament on NEET tomorrow.
Our aim is to engage constructively in the interest of 24 lakh NEET aspirants who deserve answers.
I believe that it would be fitting if you were to lead this debate.
This brought back memories of a similar experience I had in Chanakyapuri!
My friend and I were having dinner when Rahul Gandhi ji was seated at a table right in front of us. A family celebrating a birthday at the next table cut the cake and went over for a photograph. He posed so warmly and wished them like he was part of their family — genuinely humble and down-to-earth.
Truly heartwarming! 🙏
In all these years..never saw Rahul Gandhi give up, complain, blame, cry, fear, backtrack, manipulate, lie or change his ideology even for a day no matter the price pressure or pain..this strength of character..show me in one other leader, then talk nonsense about alternative
Dear @Ram_Guha, I urge you to write one article against Rahul Gandhi everyday for one year. By doing so, I hope you will come to realise the irrelevance of your opinion to the political developments; and finally find peace. We, in the Congress camp, will keep humouring you. :)
Was out for lunch on my Son’s Birthday today . As luck would have it Rahul Gandhi ji @RahulGandhi and Priyanka ji @priyankagandhi were at nearby table with family . My son waived at him in excitement , Mr Gandhi called him and made his birthday memorable !! Thank you sir !
These are intellectuals of this country, who doesn't know the reality of the country, Rahul Gandhi is loosing elections because of his leadership style? Guha doesn't acknowledge role of ED, CBI and Adani, Ambani. He assumes it's fair and equal playing field.
@Ram_Guha@ShashiTharoor Alas, your views are absolutely biased. There is a resurgence in Congress in spite of systematic institutional abuse of power against them. Change is inevitable.
