@ALPACanada@tim_f_perry@atac_canada@OmarAlghabra Exemptions to hard fought for prescriptive fatigue regulations would be a risky band-aid solution at best and is in no ones best interest. Identify and isolate the core issue then solve for that.
Following 8 months of negotiations, we are pleased to announce that the pilots have reached an Agreement in Principle (AIP) with @WestJet on our second agreement.
There will be NO labour action.
We sincerely thank you for your support.

According to @tim_f_perry "much of what is occurring, is an attraction and retention issue on the part of airlines, with many new carriers not paying enough and creating a "revolving door" where pilots leave for better jobs." https://t.co/DcZZx35eUQ
There is absolutely no justification for allowing foreign pilots to take Canadian jobs @tomkmiec@JustinTrudeau say NO to Temporary Foreign Pilots undermining Canadian Collective Bargaining. https://t.co/jgmM9c0s1a
@OmarAlghabra Lets make sure the proposed task force has representation from the employee groups who transit airport security everyday and who have suffered the brunt of the traveling publics frustration: Pilots/Flight Attendants/Customer service agents.
Saying the quiet part out loud: “And, of course, the regionals want to see the 1,500-hour rule go away.” After receiving $63b gov’t bailout, some airlines want to weaken safety law that has ⬇️ fatalities by 99.8%. @RAAtweets leading the charge. https://t.co/8KesQDyBLW
It really is all about a level competitive playing field; everyone prioritizing safety over profit, providing fair wages and being good corporate citizens. Protecting airlines who are willing to do this from those who don't is in the public interest.
Bravo. While @ALPACanada always stands for safety above all, we know that today’s travel restrictions are ineffective at protecting anyone, and worse, continue to harm airlines, our economy and so many Canadians who need to return to work.

Before @WestJet started flying 25 years ago, only 18% of Canadian adults travelled by air. Today, 50% of Canadians travel by air, while over the same period, average airfares have declined by 45%.
