Survivors of domestic violence need Safety, Healing, and Hope from our local Community.

Yesterday, more than 750 people gathered for the Heights annual luncheon. I’m proud to support Executive Director Jennifer Salzman and her team, who help survivors escape abuse and Rebuild their Lives.

Grateful as well to hear from Keynote Speaker Catherine H. Johnson, President and CEO of @weareafhi, whose work supports Family Justice Centers nationwide.

The Heights focuses on providing Five Key Community Resources:
• Emergency Shelters: 324 nights provided by The Heights and its partners in the past 12 months.


• Camp HOPE: 58 children participated in 2026.


• Youth Enrichment: 159 attended monthly enrichment events in the past 12 months.


• Childcare: 502 hours provided while survivors received services in the past 12 months.


• Sexual Assault Forensic Exams: 15 completed from the clinic’s April 30 opening through September 25.

Today, TCEQ dismissed with prejudice J7 Ready Mix's concrete batch plant application in Burleson. This is a historic moment, as this is now the SECOND concrete batch we have successfully defeated in House District 96.

I want to thank the community members of STOP the J7 Ready Mix Plant group, Green Air Solutions Texas, Brandon McElroy, and Adam Friedman for standing with me in this long fight for over 3 years.
