@AStuttaford Great article. However employment was at very high levels across the West pre Covid. Australia and the UK stand out but the trend was broader. All employment revolutions have brought more, better jobs rather than reducing the need for workers, even if transition hurts.
@Birdyword The financial market atmosphere around Covid mellowed appreciably when the Fed set up enhanced dollar swap lines. It's a dollarised world. Plenty of people may not like that, but that's hardly the same as having a plausible alternative. Yuan? Euro? Tsk.
