I thought for the Vegas expansion draft, teams were under prepared and the Knights took advantage.
This time around, I feel like teams over prepared. I think if Seattle does this draft right, they’ll have an opportunity at a real good team.
Yeah he’s had injuries, but he’s Vladimir Tarasenko. Two years at $7.5 million isn’t bad. I swear these teams and media heads overthink way too much. This is a gigantic mistake.
Championship teams don’t sign players like Barclay Goodrow, they sign or find the next Barclay Goodrow.
This all but ensures Boston won’t have a shot at him. But I’m okay with that.
OFFICIAL: #NYR have acquired forward Barclay Goodrow from Tampa Bay in exchange for a 7th-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft and have acquired a 4th-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft and defenseman Nick DeSimone from Vegas in exchange for Brett Howden.
Barring a last second move, this should be the Bruins protection list.
Bergeron
Marchand
Pastrnak
Coyle
Smith
DeBrusk
Frederic
McAvoy
Carlo
Grzelyck
Vladar
Don’t know what other list makes sense. I’d leave Ritchie exposed and hope Seattle cracks and snags him over Lauzon
@MikeFromWoburn Can we also talk about why no one is suggesting the Bruins see what value they could get for Grzelyck?
Have we not realized we can’t win with these undersized defensemen in our top 4? Grizz is a good player, but he’s not someone you build your defense around in my opinion.
McAvoy is a better player than Heiskanen. An 8-year deal also cuts into an extra year of UFA eligibility for McAvoy.
Realistically, for an 8-year pact, have to think McAvoy could command a $9.5 million AAV. So 8 x 76.
I hope he takes a friendlier deal, but that’s on the table.
That forward could just take DeBrusks protection spot and you wouldn’t lose Lauzon for nothing. Instead you’d have a new piece on your second line and you’d lose either Zboril or Clifton, but aren’t you trying to reload your defense anyways?
If I’m Sweeney I’m calling around seeing if I can flip a package of DeBrusk and Lauzon for a forward to add to your middle six. You’re losing Lauzon anyway in the expansion draft and it’s pretty clear you want to trade DeBrusk. Those two have good value.
