Inflation has overtaken wages for the first time in 3 years.
That means Americans’ incomes are shrinking in real terms, largely because of the Iran war.
My @Morning_Joe Chart.
It appears that Trump never posted anything about D-Day, though he had plenty of posts on June 6. It's as if all pretenses are gone, and he's given up even pretending he's interested in honoring anything about America other than himself.
Today is the 82nd anniversary of D-Day – the Allied landings in Normandy, which significantly hastened the countdown to the Nazis' collapse in World War II. It is one of the most important moments of unity among the defenders of life in human history, and it was less than a year until the peoples’ aspiration for freedom and the hope of peace prevailed in May 1945. It happened then. We are working to make it happen again today.
And although yesterday in Petersburg another cynical order to continue killing was issued for the army trying to destroy our freedom, history has seen this before. The Nazis also had their own hopes after D-Day. But freedom still wins. And even in the darkest circumstances, people find ways to come together to protect life.
I thank all those who are now helping to protect the values that prevailed in World War II. I thank everyone who is defending life. Glory to Ukraine!

Enten: "So fewer Americans think it's acceptable to put President Trump's name on government buildings right now than believe that the earth is that or the moon landing is fake"
So let me get this straight.
77% of the territory pledged as the Jewish national home was carved off in 1921 to create an Arab emirate. Fine. That's history, and Israel has long since accepted the Jordan River as a border.
But here's the real question:
Why is it still illegal for a Jew to live there?
Jordan's nationality law is explicit. Law No. 6 of 1954, still in force, grants citizenship to "any person who, not being Jewish, possessed Palestinian nationality before 15 May 1948." Read that again. The religious exclusion is written into the text. It is one of the few nationality statutes on earth with a clause aimed at a single religious group.
Land sale to Jews? Under a 1973 Jordanian law, the "Law for Preventing the Sale of Immovable Property to the Enemy," selling land to the "enemy" carries the death penalty and forfeiture of all property. The statute defines "enemy" as Israelis, but in practice it has been applied specifically to sales to Jews, not to Israeli Arabs. The Palestinian Authority inherited this law and enforces it to this day, sentencing land dealers to hard labor for life, with capital punishment still on the books.
So ask the people who chant about apartheid and ethnic cleansing:
Why is a state whose nationality law explicitly excludes Jews, and where selling land to Jews can cost you your life, considered the legitimate, "moderate Hashemite kingdom"?
Why is the one country in the region where Arabs, Muslims, Christians, Druze, and Bedouin all vote and sit in parliament the "apartheid state"?
Notice the pattern. When 77% of the land was made judenrein by British fiat and Hashemite decree, the world called it statesmanship. When Jews ask to live on the remaining 23%, the world calls it occupation.
A territory was emptied of Jews and kept empty of Jews for a century, and somehow the Jews are the ethnostate.
The map didn't just shrink the Jewish home by three-quarters. It established a principle:
Arab land can be Jew-free as a matter of law, and that this is normal.
Unremarkable.
Not worth a single UN resolution.
Ask why.
I want to thank Senator John Cornyn for his years representing our state.
We don’t agree on everything, but we both still believe in public service.
To Senator Cornyn’s supporters: you have a place in our campaign.
These are the German Flotilla members arriving home. If they were really tortured and abused as they say why are their parents and family not there to comfort them? How come it’s just their pro-Pal peers. It’s because they’re in a cult.
To remind everyone what really happened that night:
• They cut off testicles and shoved them into the victims's mouths.
• They stabbed pregnant women in the womb and raped them.
• They beheaded people.
• They gouged people's eyes out.
French authorities worked overtime to keep these details away from the public.
And apparently, the mastermind behind this atrocity will soon walk, because European leaders are cowards and traitors who will never do the right thing.
Why "genocide"?
Because there is no word above it.
The Genocide Convention of 1948 was specifically designed to be the apex offense. The one that triggers erga omnes obligations, meaning every state on Earth is legally permitted (and arguably required) to act. Any state can file at the ICJ. South Africa did. The case proceeds on its own logic regardless of merit, because the process itself is the weapon.
This is why the word was chosen. It is the only one that:
Suspends the right of self-defense. You can defend yourself against terror, against rockets, against an invasion. You cannot "defend yourself" against an accusation of genocide. Every military operation becomes prima facie illegitimate.
Reverses the post-Holocaust moral order. Some will say that Israel exists because of the Holocaust. Calling Israel genocidal is not a critique. It is an inversion. It removes the moral foundation of the Jewish state from under its feet. That is the goal, not a side effect. No other word does this. "Apartheid" insulted Israel; "genocide" delegitimizes its existence.
Captures Western elite imagination. The Holocaust is the central moral event of postwar Western liberalism. "Never again" is the only universally shared political slogan. Hijack that frame and you have already won the seminar, the editorial board, and the human rights org, before any facts are reviewed.
Solves Hamas's strategic problem. Hamas cannot win militarily. It can only win by forcing external intervention to stop Israel before Hamas is destroyed. Only "genocide" creates the pressure necessary to halt a war mid-execution and grant the loser a survival clause. War crimes get you tribunals after the fact. Genocide gets you a ceasefire now.
Aligns incentives across an otherwise incoherent coalition. Hamas wants survival. The PA wants relevance. Iran wants Israel weakened. Qatar wants leverage. Turkey wants Sunni leadership. South Africa wants soft power. Western progressives want moral clarity. Old-school antisemites want permission. One word, and only this word, gives all of them what they need at the same time. It is a Schelling point for a coalition that agrees on nothing else.
That last point is the underrated one. "Genocide" is not just an accusation. It is a coordination device. It is the single word around which a globally fractured anti-Israel coalition can rally without having to agree on goals, tactics, or post-war visions. Drop the word and the coalition disintegrates into its mutually hostile parts within a week.
But they will never drop it. They cannot afford to.
Only sick & vile terrorists would attack a house of worship that also has a daycare full of children because they have issues with the faith or due to political conflicts at home or abroad, whether at a Muslim Center in San Diego or a Jewish Synagogue in Michigan. Stop the hate💔
On This Day — May 17, 1939: Britain Appeased the Arabs & Condemned Europe’s Jews to the Holocaust
As Jews across Europe were being beaten, robbed & deported after Kristallnacht, Britain joined the side of their persecutors by issuing the infamous White Paper of 1939 — one of the most disgraceful acts of appeasement and betrayal in modern history.
First they appeased Hitler at Munich.
Then they appeased the Mufti of Jerusalem and Arab violence.
At the worst possible moment, Britain illegally slammed the last escape door shut on Europe’s Jews. The White Paper drastically restricted Jewish immigration to a trickle and made any further entry subject to Arab consent — which the Arabs had already made clear would be zero. Jewish land purchases were brutally restricted.
This was not policy.
This was betrayal.
Britain had been granted the Mandate for Palestine by the League of Nations via unanimous international treaty specifically to establish a Jewish national home and encourage close Jewish settlement.
The League’s own Mandates Commission reviewed the White Paper and declared it illegal — a clear violation of the Mandate. Britain simply ignored the League and enforced it anyway.
The Jews begged for their lives. Britain gave them a death sentence.
Hundreds of refugee ships were turned away. British forces fired on many. The Struma — carrying 769 Jews, including 70 children — was refused entry and later sunk. One of many such tragedies. Britain’s policy trapped Jews in Europe with nowhere to run as the Holocaust began.
By closing the gates while the Nazis prepared the gas chambers, Britain became complicit in the scale of the systematic, industrialized genocide. At least hundreds of thousands of Jews who could have reached safety in the Land of Israel were instead exterminated.
The British didn’t just fail the Jews.
They actively helped ensure that when the Nazis came for them, there was no place left in the world to which they could escape.
That is why a strong, sovereign Israel is not optional — it is an existential necessity.
Never again will Jews depend on the mercy of empires that appease our enemies and abandon us to slaughter.
Never again will we trust “guarantees” from powers that fold, betray, or look away when it matters most.
On this day in 1864, two Civil War armies met on a flat Louisiana prairie and fought what veterans on both sides would call the most beautiful battle of the entire war.
It came at the tail end of the Red River Campaign, an expedition so disastrous that Congress later investigated it. Union General Nathaniel Banks, a former Massachusetts governor with no real military training, had pushed deep into Louisiana to grab cotton and plant a loyal government, then been thrashed at Mansfield and was now running for the Mississippi with Confederate General Richard Taylor, son of President Zachary Taylor, snapping at his heels.
At dawn on May 16 the two armies came out of the woods onto a five mile wide open plain near the village of Mansura. There was nowhere to hide. No forest, no ridges, no fences. So they did the only thing left to do. They formed up in the kind of textbook battle lines that had not been seen since Napoleon.
For four hours, more than 12,000 men stood in the open while sixty pieces of artillery dueled across the prairie. Officers on horseback rode the lines as if at a parade. Banks's blue lines and Taylor's gray lines maneuvered against each other in full view, flags snapping, bands playing, the whole thing visible end to end like a diagram in a tactics manual.
Casualties were astonishingly light. Taylor was outnumbered and eventually pulled back rather than commit his infantry.
One Union soldier wrote home that it was "war as the books describe it, and as we had never before seen it." Another called it "the prettiest sight I ever beheld in my life."
It was also one of the last times in American history that an army would ever fight that way.
😂 This “Nakba Survivor” is literally a “European settler”
In the late 19th century, Muslim Bosnians (including Inea’s grandparents), fled Bosnia to Ottoman Syria, after Austria-Hungary took control of Bosnia.
They feared that now, the Christians will seek revenge after years of mistreatment.
Inea’s father’s family lived in Tulkaram, but he himself lived in Jerusalem where Inea was born.
In the 1930’s, Inea’s father had a Job in England, he returned to Mandatory Palestine after a few years, but in 1948 they decided to move back to England.
They were not expelled, and no one forced them to move to England. As a matter of fact, Tulkaram, and the old city of Jerusalem remained under Jordanian Arab control. Not a single Zionist to bee seen there.
So in summary, this is a European with no strong roots in the land of Israel, whose family made the decision to immigrate back to the continent of their grandparents instead of remaining under Arab control.
(And the “visit Palestine” poster on her wall is a Zionist poster by Franz Kraus to encourage Zionist tourism to the holy land. It’s not even the original poster, but a replica of the poster, with an additional Hebrew description mentioning his name 🤦♂️)
