@fashion_nfl Still feels just as basic. It's like they just said, "Let's make ours a triangle this time instead of a circle." The next team might make theirs a square.
@GrantPaulsen@funnydanny@Tobi_Altizer Toboni has to wait until the offseason to trade CJ if he's going to trade him at all. Watching this team play competitive baseball, and listening to Butera talk about the great clubhouse chemistry, this can't be disrupted mid season.
@ed_weck@BBGreatMoments It's probably the main reason the organization doesn't bother trying. They know fans are going to show up regardless. They just sign one or two big stars as an attraction. Trout, Shohei, Rendon, Pujols, Hamelton, etc. Fans show up and cheer on that kne player. It's really cringy.
@tydrenning@klwoodjr Wow, I totally forgot about them "going for it" that season. It was so obvious they were jumping the gun. Extended Witt Jr that year and tripped on themselves trying to make something of it. Nats can't make that mistake.
@Duckmanbuck@klwoodjr And be a dumpster fire again in 5 years? We might as well be patient for a couple more years. It's not even like we are still a dumpster fire right now, either. I only see them progressing, even with CJ traded.
@devhumbled@klwoodjr Teams like the Astros, Guardians, Brewers, Rays were also among the Yankees and Dodgers as the winningest teams in MLB the last 10 years. It's not all about spending the most:

@JonnyMaxximum@trippwhitbeck@NationalsSource Sad part is that mindset is probably more common in the sports industry than we would like to think. But yeah, it's a bad look and they should just let him go.
@Fabian_Vega88@alexstein99@JamesOKeefeIII Funny thing is, the team is starting to turn around after the owner revamped the org from top to bottom. Compare that to Cohen's last place Mets.
