"It's just a niggle."
You've Googled "Achilles pain" eight times. Tested it on the stairs. Now you're checking it every time you stand up.
At what point is the "little niggle" not so little anymore?
Fastest 5K you've ever run. Last half mile felt like death.
Upload to Strava.
4.99K.
WTF.
If this keeps happening, I put a few GPS checks in my reply.
Are we seriously saying 10 metres means no PB?
Are you taking the PB or running it again?
Cold? Another layer.
Rain? Usually fine.
That freezing rain that soaks your shoes before you've even run a mile? Nah, I'm out.
What's the weather that makes you turn around and go home?
You agreed to run with a friend.
They're slower than you.
Slow down or take off?
Group runs get a lot easier when everyone agrees on the pace beforehand.
@somersetlurcher that sounds like a proper social run. hard bits at your own effort, regroup after, catch up, then breakfast... pretty hard to argue with that setup
@JeremieClevy putting the slowest runner in front is actually a pretty simple fix ๐ takes away that constant temptation for everyone else to creep faster
@davidjohnsonTF ๐ this is exactly the kind of nonsense our brains make us do. 9:01 somehow feels unacceptable but 8:59 restores order to the universe
Upload a slow run to Strava and suddenly you're typing a whole defense.
"It was hot."
"Didn't sleep."
"Legs felt heavy."
Who are we trying to impress with a Tuesday 5-miler? ๐
