@pjlavish@mdwbasketball Semantics? I’m curious if it’s actually legal regardless of ref limitation. What would a perfect AI bot camera with 360 replay have called with unlimited replay time
@pjlavish@mdwbasketball He makes clear there was some peripheral subjectivity to the call and understands the refs have to make a snap judgment. So what’s the rule
Sam Presti has been tanking and building and perfecting that team since 2007 (tanking for Westbrook, Ibaka, trading em for CP3 + 2 picks, Oladipo, Sabonis, >PG>SGA+ J, Williams, tanking again 15 years later for Chet… a near 20 year dynasty building project all to run into a Spurs team compiled of top 3 picks… just like Presti’s original KD, Russ, Harden core.
Watching this exceptional game, capping off an incredible series, with teams built around tanking (Thunder) and multiple top-3 picks in a row (Spurs), thinking about how none of this would happen under the new anti-tanking rules but at least Utah will play Lauri down the stretch
Tony Brothers staff: makes the wrong call. Huddles with fellow refs to discuss it. Decides to leave the wrong call. Sees Spurs coach challenge and ignores it. Calls foul against spurs on other end. Then hit spurs with tech. Masterful villainy
@VinceGoodwill the thunder wouldn’t be here had they not been able to tank so hard in 07-10, then go back to the tank well decades later. The two west teams needed. Lesson: tank like a champ and recruit stars
This argument between Morey and Myers articulates their philosophies
Daryl says depth doesn't matter and argues for protecting flawed Star players
Myers prefers depth. Morey roasts Bob's drafting (Myers sucks at drafting, Morey excels in this area)
