Spent some time with my charity, Caribbean New Frontier Foundation at the BBC Good Food Summer show at Birmingham NEC a couple of weeks ago. Met up with UK Celebrity Chef Ainsley Harriet for a quick chinwag…Great Guy! @BBCGoodFoodShow@CaribCookSchool#cariherfood
At the GUSDA Folk Festival in south London with Guyana’s celebrated broadcast journalist Gordon Moseley last Sunday 28th May 2023. Great event for family activities and business networking! @gomoseley@patrice_wishart#GDSIC
Hey all, been really busy since returning from Guyana last November. Created another company and planning our first high profile event. Life is good because God made it so!
On a side note, has anyone seen #KylieJenner lion head fashion statement!? Absolutely ridiculous and troubling. What troubles me most is what young fashionistas and those addicted to the hunt think are the limits of fashion. #FashionWeek#Lion
Guyana’s President Ali says Caribbean countries with oil and gas production potential should go for it…I think this is the right posture and not to be protectionist…This is collective inclusive thinking and a good sign! #leadership#Guyana#oilandgas
As Guyana pushes ahead with its oil and gas exploration plans developed nations are asking if they have the right to do that. Well I say as a sovereign nation they have the right to economic growth. Once they also pursue plans to invest in renewable energy projects. @OilandGasHub
Though #Guyana lost her status years ago as the food basket of the Caribbean, her recent oil and gas windfall is likely to place #CARICOM food security front and centre. For this we need focused and responsible leadership from Guyana @CARDIcaribbean
This is the time of year many of us contemplate our mortality. I’ve always believed life without hope is no life at all but I think life without #LOVE is not worth living! A legacy of hope is subordinate to a legacy of love that folks will remember long after you’re gone! #life
Education is a wonderful thing! Throughout my adolescence I subscribed to the teachings of christianity, then I heard of the atrocities committed by priests on boys in the Caribbean. Then as an adult, research has enlightened me on the role Catholicism played in slavery.
It’s that time of year again when families and loved ones share presents to show their love for each other. Many among us will not be that fortunate this year for all sorts of reasons. Let’s spare a thought for those who will suffer in silence this year.
1960s Caribbean men were wired to stifle their emotional and mental health issues & to assert their machismo. These #Babyboomers struggle to relate to generation Z men and women who wear their emotions on their shoulders. No wonder the generational disconnect! Help! @mhtodaymag
Started watching #TheCrownNetflix and quite enthralled by the depth of research and effort at achieving high levels of accuracy. The production quality is superb and the acting, very believable and convincing. A great watch! #acting
Back to my hectic routine from a rather mixed holiday. Though I miss the relaxed atmosphere and time on the beach I’m happy to have left the searing heat behind. Do I prefer the grey skies, biting cold and rampant racism? Certainly not! But happy to call the Caribbean home!
All done! After a painful but fun run yesterday I’m pleased and proud I completed it. At my age I believe I have nothing else to prove 😂@dhlexpressuk@LondonRevs@LondonMarathon
It takes courage to stand up for what is right, moral & decent. Though typically politicians cannot be regarded as blessed with such attributes I find @Julius_S_Malema an interesting character to watch. He might just be this generation’s answer to political stagnation in #Africa
Britain has outdone itself with a near immaculate state funeral for their Queen Elizabeth II yesterday. But for me the moment of pride was seeing Lady #MeghanMarkIe in her splendour grace and poise in spite of the vitriol she suffers from British people & press. So Proud of her!
Last week I stumbled across crowds of people lining the A40 in the rain. I had no idea I was about to witness the passing of The Queen’s casket en route to Westminster. I captured the event on video and wondered after, would I have sacrificed my health to get that shot? NO!
