The support behind this campaign has made it clear that residents are ready to move D5 forward.
If you could not make it to the kickoff, there are still plenty of ways to get involved. Visit https://t.co/UcKJGgNq7X to request a yard sign and help us keep going.

This campaign kicked off the way it should: with neighbors, conversations, live music, and community.
Stay tuned for more photos from a great night in D5.

Mental health matters beyond May. I’m grateful for those who help me and for Austinites helping others. Call or text 988 at any time for resources and support. #DavidForATX#MentalHealthAwarenessMonth
Once again, Ryan Alter is putting politicians ahead of residents by backing a change that would make it harder for voters to hold Council members accountable. District 5 deserves leaders who answer to the people, not ones rewriting the rules to protect themselves. #DavidForATX
It is pretty wild that Austin City Council members aren't disclosing their vote on a major policy issue that lots of members of the public weighed in on.
If elected to Council I would not do this. Ever.

@data_atx@AleshireLaw If allowed to behave this way, council could easily hide intentions from the public by labeling items as sensitive. This sets a pretty crazy precedent for the future of the city.
Austinites showed up to oppose a backroom deal handing the 2,600-acre Dog’s Head tract to a developer for 45 years. I spoke against it. Ryan Alter sided with the developer. The deal passed. The giveaway is complete. #DavidForATX#AustinTX

Today I participated in AISD’s workshop kick-off discussion on future school boundary changes. This issue is very important for many D5 parents & I will monitor it closely. The South Austin in-person meeting will be held on Tuesday, 6/16 at 6PM at the Burger Activity Center.
Last night’s Mother’s Day Gathering & Fundraiser hosted by the Austin Moms Demand Action chapter brought the community together in support of gun safety advocacy and violence intervention across Texas. I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to their mission.

Once again, Ryan Alter is siding with big special interests instead of Austin residents. Read my statement on today’s resolution.

Enjoyed supporting Clean Water Action at their benefit last night. Heard remarks from their statewide director Becky Smith and guest speaker Schuyler Wight on the importance of water stewardship and education in Texas.
