The world has changed dramatically, but many of the rules we use to navigate it were formed for a world that no longer exists.
More information is not always the answer. Sometimes the deeper need is coherence: a way to organize attention, identity, values, relationships, and action around a stable centre.
@jk_rowling Infantilizing of the population seems to be trend. I can't say I understand the world I live in, but chose not to feed into the chaos. "If everyone swept their own backstep the whole would be clean".
The question is not only, “What am I trying to achieve?”
It may also be, “What am I repeatedly training myself to notice, avoid, tolerate, and value?”
Where attention orients, the system organizes.

@WiretapMediaCa The psycho who thinks that the public is stupid and can't be trusted, nor acknowledged for anything other than doing menial tasks to support the great overlords.
@jk_rowling Many moons ago foolishess never had a platform to air its nonsense, and now those who struggle with reality are being validated by others, the few, who share the same delusion. A very noisy few...
Ever notice how stress can make the world feel smaller?
The inbox becomes the whole day. One criticism becomes the whole conversation. One difficult decision becomes proof that everything is going wrong.
Research from Amy F. T. Arnsten, “Stress Signalling Pathways That Impair Prefrontal Cortex Structure and Function,” Nature Reviews Neuroscience (2009), describes how stress-related signalling can disrupt brain networks involved in attention, working memory, and flexible decision-making: https://t.co/ApyhulG9R7
Not an excuse. A useful reminder: the state we are in can influence the picture we are able to see.
@maganewsreal Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Seriously, arrest her and then slap her parents for not raising a child who understands consequences.
@JillianMichaels So bizarre, how wild it must be to have a mind that is willing to find a way to defend the murder of children for a fee. Must be fun to live in that head.
What if the problem isn’t that you need another improvement project?
A gymnast trains the whole body around a center. A fragmented system can still be strong in places, but the parts may not know how to work together.
The same can happen psychologically:
one value at work
another at home
one identity under pressure
another in private
endless strategies, but no stable point of reference
Coherence is not adding more parts.
It is helping the parts organize around something true.
