Repeat after me, chronically ill and disabled people are entitled to fun. They are entitled to concerts, they are entitled to holidays, and they are entitled to use the toilet whenever they need to. If you disagree with this, YOU are the problem.
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH π³οΈβπ
I am proud to lead a union so diverse and so welcoming to LGBT+ workers.
2024 is our Year of the LGBT+ Worker and we will continue to be loud and proud allies of the LGBT+ community.

Well done to our Day Surgery Unit, who received a Working Together Award for the way they supported each other through a service transformation. π The unit was recently revamped with process and environment changes, to provide more capacity and help reduce waiting times.
Human beings may be complex creatures, but when it comes to having our needs met at work, we drastically overcomplicate this.
To fundamentally improve employee wellbeing three core needs to be present at work: Enough money, a manageable workload, and supportive leadership.

Iβm away at @unisontheunion LGBT+ conference and hear from back home that a truly remarkable member of staff has sadly passed away from @RUHBath RIP. Renee you will be missed and the hole you left can never be filled.
1st big project complete since taking on my new role. Thank you team DSU for continuing elective services whilst the building work took place, also thank you @CaraCBCEO and the exec team for supporting the project. This is going to make a big difference to the people we care for.
Our new-look Day Surgery Unit opened today, having been revamped to provide an additional five new cubicles, which will allow it to take more patients to help reduce surgery waiting times. π
Morning spent with the fabulous Day Surgery Unit Team π
It was a pleasure to share with them the improvements to our day case rates, patient experience and patient outcomes. The difference in 5 months is incredible! @RUHsurgicalteam@RUHStaff@rosiewf
