@myWeatherNJ I was there on Friday. How's Holgate Preserve on the south end of the island looking? Was gusting 50+ there and had erosion on nearby beaches when I made the visit.
@MarcyInnovates I only like Minigolf. Minigolf is fucking PEAK! It's not just Hit Ball x100 to get in hole. Minigolf courses add in features to make things more interesting, like the holes that are tunnels and many obstacles. It works the brain more.
@CthReader29033@EthanKerr2003 Only reason these don't change much is that billions of dollars per year go into dumping new sand at the beach. Then one storm takes it all away and we do it again.
@EthanKerr2003 As a SJ guy, the only reason the NJ barrier islands havent fallen apart & moved is billions worth of beach replenishment every single year. If they were left alone, most of these islands would disappear, as barrier islands move and collapse naturally.
Look up Tuckers Island fyi
@JackRuddenWX I was in this exact spot years ago for vacation at the beach (I live in ocean county)! I stood there in that pavilion! Even in normal high tide the waves are quite a sight!
@JimCantore 2.5 to 3 inches would be good here in Southern Ocean County. We've been dry for a little too long for my liking. That along witha warm up next week will help the fall plants.
@seckhardt As a South Jersey Native, born & raised, the only thing keeping these islands from washing away is constant unending beach replenishment work. One category 3 hurricane landfall (actually possible in South Jersey) would wipe them from existence. Look up the tale of Tuckers Island!
