A tweet I wrote about my Brexit experience as a publisher of 17 years.
I'm already feeling less isolated from the response. It's quite possible a lot of people have had enough of the UK govt's economic vandalism.

Time is money. If it takes twice as long to do something you earn half as much. This is the brutal fact at the heart of Brexit.
Let’s "Brexit" a £12.99 paperback, blow by blow, and see what difference leaving the single market has made.
@HMRCcustomers
We have tried to post you our partnership tax return twice, but you have not received it. We are running out of time and we are abroad. Our phone calls will not connect. Please will someone DM me an email address we can contact
@pdkmitchell It is. What it does is project the ideologically driven incompetence of the people actually in charge onto the tolerant people excluded from positions of power. And he does this in a field we used to be influential in when we were members of the EU.
@HenninghamPress Or my favourite Google memory, may we always remember in fondness that time an ice cream van man flipped a V at me because I asked him to move away from the school gate
A 🧵 of postage stamps issued by states that were either short-lived or have ceased to exist.
1. Gold Coast, a British Colony from 1821. This stamp was overprinted for use by independent Ghana in 1957.

But despite existing for only a year, Deutschösterreich seems to have issued loads of stamps.
Here are some printed on something like newspaper, cut with scissors (no perforations) by a citizen of this mayfly state

@srmarshall46@keith_oswin @RantyHighwayman I know what I get, I live in London.
A particular favourite is when central government tried to leverage covid to cancel free bus passes (used by my mum and kids) and make Khan look bad, so he found a different funding source.
Thank you Khan!
@keith_oswin @RantyHighwayman @srmarshall46 I didn't vote for Khan first time, but his time in office has been successful by every objective measure, so I vote for him now.
When people apply a different metric to Khan than to other officials it can only be explained as racism.
@richard_littler I don't know about other collections, but I inherited one. I started organising it a bit and it turned out to be incredible. Countries that existed for a few months. Unrecognized genocidal regimes. Vassal states. Space stamps issued by countries without space programs....
