@KarenFactsLover All Palestinians including infants?
You said ALL. Just think about your assertion there.
As I said, radicals like Hamas & Hezbollah are fair game because they are combatants in this situation but innocent civilians DO exist in Palestine, Lebanon & Israel.
ALL. Give me a break
@KarenFactsLover Not all Palestinians are Hamas.
Just like not all Israelis are not like Ben Gvir & Smotrich (both were considered by Israel and its government to have a past in terrorism).
I want to protect the innocent lives of both Israelis & Palestinians.
I don’t think that’s for a debate.
@KarenFactsLover As I said, given the current tensions, it’s becoming unlikely more than ever.
But, we do need to escalate to peace and not more warfare.
But, yeah. Thanks for the language.
@kinsellawarren Israel does have a right like any other country to defend itself. My opinion on this has NEVER changed.
So, I don’t know what the debate is there.
But, I do know this. Both Ben Gvir & Smotrich have been legally arrested in Israel for their past terrorist activities. It’s a FACT
@kinsellawarren One can criticize the government of Israel (especially people like Ben Gvir and Smotrich) and not be labeled as antisemitic. This isn’t whataboutism either.
I support the Jewish people the right to exist peacefully and without terror.
@kinsellawarren If I may.
Former Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Israel and PM Netanyahu tried a very similar approach with President Biden.
Was his assertion antisemitic too? You know that Sec. Blinken is also Jewish too.
Please call antisemitism when it is appropriate.
@McLeanChronicle I mean do I need to point out the many postings that President Trump posted on his Truth Social during the last few weeks?
Objectively, I do need to question his temperament.
@McLeanChronicle That’s my point, Ross. Negotiations are based on meeting of the minds.
I don’t really thing POTUS is a reliable negotiator at all. One really cannot predict what he will do one day to the next.
If President Trump was a rational negotiator, then I would put more onus on our PM.
@McLeanChronicle 3 - Canada has already gave into concessions (digital tax) in good faith and got nothing from it. So, when the U.S. wants more concessions, it is frankly bordering on ‘extortion’.
4 - Should PM Carney do more? Absolutely. Removing inter-provincial trade barriers is a start.
@McLeanChronicle It really wasn’t rhetorical at all.
But I do want to point out couple of important things.
1 - POTUS doesn’t conduct negotiations in ‘good faith’. CUSMA was coined by him as the best deal and yet he changed his tune so many times.
2 - Big issue is the supply management issue.
@kimkanadian@McLeanChronicle 3 - PM Carney has his majority now. He will be scrutinized for his government’s performance without any excuse.
4 - He has important deadlines to meet so I want to see that he meets those requirements.
@McLeanChronicle Exchange of ideas, thoughts and debate without resorting to personal attacks is what we need.
Unfortunately, it is increasingly difficult to see especially on social media.
I hope the trend reverses itself.
@McLeanChronicle I understand the idea Ross, but there is no sense of clear directions that the Trump administration is going when it comes 1 - handling of Strait of Hormuz, 2 - sanctioning Iran & Russia one day and un-sanctioning them the next day. This is only on the economic front.
@carlacaresteam@McLeanChronicle Right. So cryptocurrency like Bitcoin. Unfortunately, the whole premise of a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin & ETH are supposed be decentralized (not government backed).
@Faefolette@McLeanChronicle I do not think that the current United States foreign policy have made their allies feel safe economically and geopolitically.
