I hate underdog stories in this situation. These tournaments are better when the bigger nations qualify. Who’s watching a group with Canada/Qatar/Bosnia all in it. Outside of 06 Italy haven’t won a knockout game since 98 and it would still be a better tournament with them in it👍🏻

16/17 was the tail end of a bad spell. 12/13 - 17/18 it was shite. 18/19 - 21/22 it was amazing. But 22/23 until now it’s been at an all time low and every league is the same. At least before when the PL teams were shit you could still see good Italian and Spanish teams in Europe
