@Eebrokaka01 He's very rarely played deep, like Pirlo, has he? At https://t.co/qSSkAO4mW4 he was the creator. Casemiro played deep, and then had Kroos and Modric alongside him who got forward to create.
It's only as he got older that he went deeper, maybe his last one or two seasons
If you buy shit players, you're not going to make the Champions League.
Shouldn't be losing at home to the..... *checks notes*....14th best team in the league but then they were fortunate to be in a position to make the Champions League at all. The team is not good
Milan have missed out on Champions League qualification and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, club owner Gerry Cardinale will sack all the directors, including Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare, with coach Massimiliano Allegri also on the brink.
@Eebrokaka01 Not creating that many chances though. Which is what you referred to. You'd never find him leading any chance creation metric from where he played. He was still important, as Modric was this season, but you need more than these players
@Eebrokaka01 Rabiot isn't and never has been a creator.
Modric isn't going to create direct chances playing deep. He'll help, but you create playing close to goal, not from the centre circle
So that's been the problem all along? Mobile phones, individual rooms, and not having their weight checked is responsible for failing to qualify for three straight World Cups.
Definitely not a lack of good players.
🚨 Italy interim boss Silvio Baldini is set to introduce MAJOR reforms ahead of the June international break against Luxembourg and Greece. 👀🇮🇹
➜ NO more individual rooms.
➜ Cell phones BANNED.
➜ Strict breakfast schedules — punctuality required.
➜ Daily weigh-ins implemented.

Camarda is injured, but when he was fit wasn't starting enough games.
Gabbia is 26 and the fact he is being described as 'the future' is why Italy are struggling to begin with. Not good enough
@patty_b519 He doesn't pick young players. He prioritises workhorses over actual talent. 3-5-2 merchant, which we've seen isn't a successful way of playing at the top level.
The Euro 2016 performances were largely very shit. The Spain second round game was excellent, the rest were rubbish
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Antonio Conte is tempted by a return as Italy’s national team coach while Napoli would not oppose his summer exit.
@buromomento Ruggeri isn't eligible for the U-21s.
Cambiaso is rubbish, not good enough and one of the many examples why Italy aren't very good. He's not better than Ruggeri.
Calafiori isn't really a left back. Not in the way Italy want to play, anyway.
So it's just Dimarco and Udogie
Ruggeri? Is he dead and I just haven't noticed?
The number of Italians playing regular Champions League football is probably in single figures. Leaving one of them out when you can't qualify for a 48-team World Cup is madness
Riccardo Calafiori has been blamed for the difficulties of Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco in the Italy team, as the Arsenal man forced a change of position for the Inter pair.

Deluded. We haven't won the U-21 Euros since 2004. Haven't made the final since 2013.
Three U-19 finals since 2008. Sounds great, right? England also have three, France have four, Portugal five, Spain seven (!!).
Italy are not producing enough top players
Italy doesn’t have a talent problem, they have a development problem and I’ll tell you why. They always do decently well in the Youth tournaments. Where we see players like Kayode, Bartesaghi, Liberali, Fagioli, Hasa, Ricci, Casadei, and many others play well. 1/2
He's right but also.....Gattuso is a bad coach. He needs to go.
Changing coach won't solve everything - as we've seen with Spalletti. Ultimately you need good players and Italy don't have them. But there's absolutely no chance of getting back to the top tier with a poor coach
"The problem with Italy is above Gattuso" 😬
Fabio Borini reflects on the position of Gennaro Gattuso following Italy's World Cup play off defeat and insists that there are 'major issues' within the Italian FA 🇮🇹
