The Department of Justice's lawsuit against Ticketmaster for alleged antitrust violations is expected to bring positive changes to the live event industry, benefiting consumers in the long run. This legal action follows years of consumer dissatisfaction with various ticket marketplaces, not just limited to Ticketmaster.

The global Sports Illustrated family, including SI, SI Swimsuit, SI Tickets, SI Sportsbook, Club SI and SI Resorts, is continuing to grow this legendary, 70-year-old brand around the world.
Over the past few days, the news cycle and social media conversation has given our millions of fans the impression that SI is ceasing operations. I wanted to provide my personal view on these headlines and what it means for SI, SI Tickets and the entire SI family.
Sports Illustrated is owned by Authentic Brands Group, the $40B+ global powerhouse with a portfolio of 50+ iconic brands in 150 countries including Reebok, Elvis, Juicy Couture, Shaq, David Beckham and Aeropostale.
Authentic licenses its brands to operators across verticals who build their businesses leveraging these storied brands. Authentic licensed SI editorial to The Arena Group, which has over 265 media brands, including The Street, Parade and Men’s Journal.
There is new ownership at The Arena Group with a plan to restructure and put the company in the best position to succeed. However, they did not make their required SI license payment and this resulted in Authentic terminating Arena's license while discussions continue. That does not mean SI is ceasing operations or folding, which Authentic has already stated is not going to happen.
The value of SI and its importance to millions of fans has never been more visible than in the past few days. Stories and pictures of moments captured by some of the best writers and photographers are being shared around the world. It’s been truly remarkable to observe the emotion evoked by passionate, loyal fans and athletes when they describe what Sports Illustrated has meant to them.
It has reminded us all of SI’s impact and significance as a truly unparalleled fabric in the tapestry of sports and culture.
For nearly seven decades, Sports Illustrated has been the most trusted name in sports, and it will continue to be to millions around the world for decades to come.
