The Eagles released their fourth album, One of These Nights, which featured the US Top Ten hits “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Take It to the Limit,” and the title track. The album became the band’s first to top the Billboard 200. One of These Nights marked a major commercial breakthrough for the Eagles, selling over 4 million copies in the U.S. and earning them their first Grammy Award (for “Lyin’ Eyes”). It was also the last album to feature original guitarist Bernie Leadon, who left the band shortly after its release.

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell revealed he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after undergoing a surgical biopsy two months earlier. He remained optimistic, noting, “All things considered, Hodgkin’s has an over 80% cure rate, so by my reckoning, if you’re going to have a cancer, Hodgkin’s is the one to have”. Vivian was diagnosed in April 2013 and continued performing with Def Leppard throughout his treatment, which included chemotherapy. He successfully completed treatment and has remained in remission, returning to full touring and recording duties with the band.
