For too long, electing more women was painfully incremental.

30 years ago, Labor made a crucial step forward with quotas for pre-selection in winnable seats.

The Liberals and Nationals took no action at all. In 2024, two-thirds of their federal MPs are men.

We all owe the women who pushed for positive change a debt of gratitude.

Because governments are better when they reflect the diversity of Australia. Our team is stronger for it every day.
