You are not a data point. You’re a beloved child of God with moral agency and divine potential.
I invite you to join me at https://t.co/DvO30jyBlh on June 7 as we discuss how to hear God's voice in an age of artificial intelligence. You are not a data point. You’re a beloved child of God with moral agency and divine potential.
“There comes a time when the general defilement of a society becomes so great that the rising generation is put under undue pressure and cannot be said to have a fair choice between the way of light and the way of darkness.
“When such a point is reached the cup of iniquity is full, and the established order that has passed the point of no return and neither can nor will change its ways must be removed physically and forcibly if necessary from the earth, whether by war, plague, famine, or upheavals of nature.”
—Hugh Nibley, An Approach to the Book of Mormon (1957)
Every dispensation reaches a point when “the cup of iniquity is full,” when the fruit has reached full ripeness and any further delay will only result in spoilage and loss. But there is only one dispensation that will not end in utter destruction—now, the dispensation of the fulness of times.
“Apostasy and destruction of one kind or another was the ultimate fate of every general dispensation we have ever had down through time. But here’s my theory. My theory is that those great men and women, the leaders in those ages past, were able to keep going, to keep testifying, to keep trying to do their best, not because they knew that they would succeed but because they knew that you would. I believe they took courage and hope not so much from their own circumstances as from yours…
“One way or another, I think virtually all of the prophets and early apostles had their visionary moments of our time—a view that gave them courage in their own less-successful eras. Those early brethren knew an amazing amount about us. Prophets such as Moses, Nephi, and the brother of Jared saw the latter days in tremendously detailed vision. Some of what they saw wasn’t pleasing, but surely all those earlier generations took heart from knowing that there would finally be one dispensation that would not fail.
“Ours, not theirs, was the day that gave them ‘heavenly and joyful anticipations’ and caused them to sing and prophesy of victory. Ours is the day, collectively speaking, toward which the prophets have been looking from the beginning of time, and those earlier brethren are over there still cheering us on! In a very real way, their chance to consider themselves fully successful depends on our faithfulness and our victory.”
—Jeffrey R. Holland, Terror, Triumph, and a Wedding Feast, 2004
Our ending will not be the same, but the signs surely will be. Pay attention! The Lord is telling you what’s coming.
“There is a verse in Section 121 that we read too quickly.
Joseph, in the pit at Liberty, with his people scattered and his children hungry and his enemies triumphant, is told by the Lord that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
Experience. The word is doing more work than we let it do.
Experience is not information.
Experience is what is left in the body and the soul after the event has passed, the residue that becomes wisdom or bitterness depending on what you do with it.
God is not sparing you from experience.
He is giving it to you.
The hard marriage, the wayward child, the financial ruin, the loss that you cannot explain, these are not interruptions of your discipleship.
These are the curriculum of your discipleship.
The God who let His own Son descend below all things is not going to exempt you from descending some distance yourself, because the descent is the school, and there is no graduation without it.
Stop praying only for the trial to end. Pray also to be made into what the trial is trying to make you. The first prayer is sometimes answered. The second prayer is always answered.”
What your children really want for dinner is you!
In an age of constant online connection, we may need to disconnect from technologies and other distractions to truly reconnect with our families.
Families grow stronger when they set aside these distractions and spend meaningful time together—learning eternal values like the importance of marriage and children, the purpose of life, and the true source of joy.
Parents also have a duty to teach their children practical knowledge apart from gospel principles. Families unite when they do meaningful things together. Happy family experiences strengthen family ties. Camping, sports activities, and other recreation are especially valuable for bonding families.
Some may say, “But we have no time for any of that.” To find time to do what is truly worthwhile, many parents will find that they can turn their families on if they all turn their technologies off.
What those we love need most is simply time with us. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is our ultimate role model. He will help us as we strive to build these family bonds.
“My dear friends in Christ, you are doing much better than you think. Just keep working at it. Your children are watching, listening, and learning. As you teach them, you will come to know their true nature as beloved sons and daughters of God. They may forget the Savior for a season, but I promise you He will never forget them! Those moments when the Holy Ghost speaks to them will persist in their hearts and minds. And one day your children will echo the testimony of Enos: I know my parents are just, ‘for [they] taught me … in the nurture and admonition of the Lord—and blessed be the name of my God for it.’
“Let us accept the Savior’s invitation and bring our children to Him. As we do so, they will see Him. They will feel Him. They will know Him. He will teach them. He will bless them. And, oh, how He will love them.” - Jan E. Newman
🇧🇷 One of the most incredible “first door” missionary stories from Brazil:
A young elder from northern Brazil traveled three days by bus to start his mission in the huge São Paulo mission. On his very first day out tracting with his companion, they knocked on their very first door.
When it opened, he stood there stunned. It was his older sister — the one who had run away from home four years earlier. His family hadn’t heard a single word from her in all that time and had no idea she was living in a city of 17 million people.
It turned into an emotional reunion filled with tears. He began teaching her the gospel right there, and she accepted it with an open heart. She became his very first convert baptism on his mission.
The mission president later said with awe: “It was the very first door he knocked on!”
The Lord truly knows where each of His children is. ✨

“I recognize that, on occasion, some of our most fervent prayers may seem to go unanswered. We wonder, ‘Why?’ I know that feeling! I know the fears and tears of such moments. But I also know that our prayers are never ignored. Our faith is never unappreciated. I know that an all-wise Heavenly Father’s perspective is much broader than is ours. While we know of our mortal problems and pain, He knows of our immortal progress and potential. If we pray to know His will and submit ourselves to it with patience and courage, heavenly healing can take place in His own way and time.”
Russell M. Nelson | Jesus Christ—the Master Healer, Ensign, Nov. 2005
Life with Jesus Christ is different. He brings peace into chaos, strength into struggle, and hope into everyday life. If you want to learn more about Jesus Christ, meet with missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. https://t.co/w8fiDFTiMF
@dustinharding Maybe something more like the AI Jesus you can pay $1.99 per minute to generate a personal relationship with? Crazy times that we can see more than a single option to match the description of Antichrist
“As followers of Christ, we should seek to live peaceably and lovingly with other children of God who do not share our values and do not have the covenant obligations we have assumed.
“In a democratic government we should seek ‘fairness for all.’ In countless circumstances, strangers’ suspicion or even hostility gradually give way to friendship when personal contacts produce mutual respect.”
— President Dallin H. Oaks (@OaksDallinH) #GeneralConference
He is risen! And because Christ rose again, we will too. Thanks to Him, no pain, fear, failure, or unfairness is permanent. This is greater love. This is Easter.
The hardest thing that ever was done.
The greatest pain that ever was known.
The biggest battle that ever was won.
This was done by Jesus!
The fight was won by Jesus!
Come sing, pray, and feel the Savior's #GreaterLove. Worship with us this Easter season.

“If we are serious about our discipleship, Jesus will eventually request each of us to do those very things which are most difficult for us to do.”
Elder Neal A. Maxwell
