Carney, Kenney, Lukaszuk & Nenshi all doing well on separatism issue, Angus Reid finds.
Premier Smith is losing popularity.
Poll also finds 77% of Albertans want to leave if province separates. Imagine our land values… #ableg#cdnpoli
1. A clear Question
2. A clear majority
We shouldn’t let a small minority of disgruntled Wild Rose Albertans #Brexit their way around joining Trump’s USA…

🚨 JUST IN: In a chilling escalation, Canadian PM Mark Carney warned America by saying, "Our full partnership and obligations to Article 5 stand. We stand FULLY BEHIND them." Canada will back Denmark on Greenland; this comes in response to U.S. plans of annexing Greenland.
Trump says on Feb 1 he will impose a 10% tariff “on any and all goods sent” to US from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, UK, Netherlands, & Finland, increasing to 25% June 1 “until such time as a Deal is reached for the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland.”
Canada should immediately join with our European allies and send a company of troops (~200 members) to Greenland to show support against aggression by the American President

Absolutely the most dangerous action by an American President for decreasing the stability of Western countries; including the USA #NATO
Where are the adults in the room?

How about 20 Liberal Senators…
Just two senators?
If Trump wants Canada to join the U.S., it’s going take a lot more

IF... Canada joined the USA, it would be as 10 or 12 separate states.
Each with its own Rights and responsibilities.
And with 2 Senators and # of Representatives/ Electoral College.
#Trump says he wants Canada as the 51st state

Jan 29/25 Statement on @GoAHealth
Alberta COVID-19 Pandemic Data Review Task Force Report
The EZMSA echoes @Albertadoctors and @CMA_Docs to reiterate the Task Force report is anti-science and anti-evidence.
We focus our comments on vaccine recommendations in the report:
-COVID-19 is 4th leading cause of death for Albertans
-risk of virus infection is currently higher than vaccine adverse events
-Vaccines are best protection for COVID-19
Our recommendation:
@GoAHealth follow the Canada Immunization Guide as a comprehensive resource on immunization, and discard Task Force report recommendations.
The guide recommends all individuals age six months and over may receive an updated vaccine dose, and this is particularly recommended for individuals identified as being at higher risk, some of whom are also recommended for additional doses.

Odd, while Health Care is a cost….
Having a Healthy population is an asset-
to society
(and businesses, and the economy)
If only you could have a healthy population at no cost…
“Nobody knew that health care could be so complicated” POTUS 45
@Albertadoctors
@JMeddings Simple. The economic horse pulls the social cart.
A strong economic relationship with the US funds inefficient AB Healthcare. Healthcare does not fund an economy. While needed it is a large cost but is still a cost.
For all its faults the US system recognizes this.
GLP-1 receptor agonists and gastric emptying
Is semaglutide use significantly associated with increased residual gastric content?
YES!
Increased residual gastric content was observed in 40% of patients in the semaglutide group and 3% in the non-semaglutide group (p < 0.001).

I wonder if a patient who is a practicing ‘vegan’ has refused Propofol based on animal product in its composition?
Anyone ‘disclose’ to patients that eggs are present?
@CASUpdate@ASALifeline
In propofol we have... Egg Lecithin
From egg yolk
Highly purified & heat treated
Found in tiny amounts - Well below allergen thresholds
Egg allergy 1% of children
Primarily allergy to egg white
Denaturing protein reduces ‘allergenicity’
(Cakes < allergy < than mayonnaise)

@PfParks Not to mention private clinics only accept the healthiest of patients.
So the rest with multiple comorbidities like bad hearts, lungs, morbid obesity, advanced senior age, etc get done by my anesthesia colleagues in the public system.
Tougher cases, longer hours, more work.
Because there are no guardrails/rules around who works in private facilities (private or publicly paid) our public facilities are suffering for HC workforce
We have many hospital ORs sitting empty… no anaesthetists or teams to staff the complicated emergency or cancer surgery
