Opening speeches at the #Samarkand Climate Forum hosted by @president_uz were timely reminders of the harsh consequences of climate change faced by Central Asia. All five Presidents & EU, UN & international organisations showcased their commitment to effective partnership.

Speaking at the "Central Asia - EU" summit, President @TokayevKZ emphasized the following:

Trade and Export

✔️ Kazakhstan is ready to increase exports to EU countries for 175 product positions totaling over $2 billion;

✔️ Kazakhstan accounts for about 13% of the EU's oil imports, the majority of which is transported via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium;

✔️ Kazakhstan highly values the EU's support for the stable and long-term operation of the CPC and is simultaneously developing alternative routes for raw material transportation;

Energy and Transportation

✔️ Jointly with long-standing partners: Total, Eni, Svevind, and other European companies, projects for renewable energy sources (RES) and the production of "green" hydrogen are being developed;

✔️ Kazakhstan, together with Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, is starting work on a large-scale project to build a transmission line for "green" energy across the Caspian to the EU market;

✔️ Kazakhstan produces 19 out of 34 types of raw materials necessary for the EU economy, including uranium, titanium, copper, lithium, cobalt, tungsten, and others;

✔️ Under the agreement with the EBRD, we are also involved in the implementation of joint projects for geological exploration and the introduction of advanced and sustainable practices in the mining industry.

✔️ In 2024, the volume of container transportation along the Trans-Caspian route increased by 62%, reaching 4.5 million tons. The goal is 10 million tons by 2027;

✔️ Kazakhstan plays an important role in the production of clean energy, providing about 40% of the world's nuclear fuel supply.
