My latest podcast guesting gig. Excited to join Liza Holland and Education Perspectives to talk about “Do They Know How to Drive”, “We All Have Talents” and why our system is the problem, not teaching and learning. https://t.co/k10L43Vb82
Our education system was built for a world that no longer exists, with metrics that don’t supply the humans the future needs, for an age when change was slow. None of these reasons seem to push change. Learners don’t have time for us to wait any longer.

We won’t issue a driver’s license with only a written “rules of the road” test. You must complete the driving test. We still assess learners on “the rules of the road”). We can’t measure them only on what they know. It’s time to teach them to drive. https://t.co/bvIovh3doQ
Deficit mindsets, standardization, teaching v. facilitating learning, acquisition v. application of knowledge. These are just a few of the 10 reasons our education system doesn’t need to be fixed, it is the wrong system in the Age of AI. https://t.co/AytfKd3iJE
“Our education system is broken and it needs to be fixed”. This statement isn’t accurate. The system is operating well for what it was designed to do, it gets an A+. It’s the wrong system for today. We need a new system. Read the Top Ten Reasons at https://t.co/AytfKd3iJE
It’s time to look at what learners bring to the table and improve outcomes by focusing on assets. The research is clear. Better engagement and productivity leads to better outcomes. AI requires humans to be the best version of themselves. Read more at https://t.co/NLOyuMCj5V
Soon we will assess learners using metrics designed for the industrial age and a world that doesn’t exist. It’s a system that has operated as it was intended since 1894; it’s just the wrong system. We need an AI Ready System that knows who learners are as much as what they know.
My latest podcast guest spot. This time with two of my favorite humans on the planet: @sarahlynnsnipes and Karen Perry. What Makes Kentucky's United We Learn Actually Work? | David Cook, Sarah Snipes and Karen Perry https://t.co/h0O56c3VwF
Since 1990 the U.S. education system has focused on outcomes based on industrial era metrics. We now find ourselves in the AI era where our humanness is our primary value. An era that demands a focus on what’s right with learners. Maybe it’s time to focus on learner inputs.
AI is a telescope—just as a telescope doesn’t replace astronomy, AI does not replace the need for humans in the learning process. AI is the ultimate research tool but its role should not be to do the sense-making in our problem-solving processes. https://t.co/TvMDqYAJUP

ALL humans have talents and they are innate, not learned. They are not limited to physical, creative, or scientific talents. Learn about the true definition of TALENT and how we all need to live into our talents. https://t.co/GnAI9fPP8O #talentsfirst#learningisntjustknowledge
ALL humans have talents and they are innate, not learned. They are also not limited to physical, creative, artistic or scientific talents. Maybe we should make sure we know each learners talents before we decide how to teach them? #talentsfirst#learningisntjustknowledge
“Choosing the human moments, that’s where real breakthroughs happen. Not in code, not in efficiency, but in connection. . . we still need people who can adapt, who can read the room, and know when the timing is close enough.” NCIS https://t.co/hFkO3mUent
As we enter 2026, my hope for all of us is that we can set aside what AI does for us and focus on what we do for AI. My latest blog post about making sure we don’t focus only on the intelligence aspect of learning. https://t.co/hFkO3mUMd1
Check out my conversation with my friend and LCC Co-CEO Katie Martin. We had such a great time talking about system transformation. You can watch on YouTube here https://t.co/ZUsezhqRKs or wherever you get your podcasts. #ApplePodcasts#Spotify
I hope you are in rest and relaxing mode and I’m also hoping that part of that rest and relaxing mode is taking a little time to catch up on some podcasts. Here is SpacesEdu’s most recent episode with yours truly. Enjoy! https://t.co/i1j2aowdMe
“If you build a Portrait of a Graduate but never measure it, your system will never value it and your teachers will never feel supported in bringing it to life.” - David Cook
