My first column at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. An excerpt: "I come to the @ajc with curiosity, the knowledge that I have a lot to learn, and the willingness to be a part of the community. I am thankful to my colleagues and community members who have welcomed me here."

I am incredibly excited about working to achieve an ambitious vision and to lead efforts to make opinion at the AJC more digitally focused and community-centered.
Please support the local journalists in your community, and I encourage you to develop a "citizenship mindset" to engage your neighbors, speak up about the things you care about, and seek to debate without dehumanizing the other. #Atlanta #Georgia #PeachState
"Reinvention is an art in American politics."
Re: @KeishaForGA 's bid for Georgia governor.
That doesn't mean victory is inevitable, but it means other factors can trump one's past record.

The data from the GA election shows big shift for Democrats among key groups.
β’72% of Hispanic voters chose a Democratic ballot, compared to 47% in 2022.
* Asian voters grew to 63% from 44%.
* 25% of white voters got Dem ballot, up from 14% in 2022.@ajc https://t.co/AJuHHigqva
@KeishaBottoms@KeishaForGA@ajc Our contributors including @EWErickson & @Carolyn4GA7 are offering their perspectives on the gubernatorial race in Georgia as well.
Also, this essay by contributor John Eaves (former Fulton County chair) ran this AM.

Reinvention is an art in politics. That's why @KeishaBottoms@KeishaForGA 's one term as Atlanta mayor may not matter to voters anymore. The pendulum swings, Trump is incredibly unpopular among Dems & independents, and things cost more than before.

The most expensive Republican primary for governor in Georgia history is still a dead heat.
Rick Jackson and Burt Jones have spent months battering each other in court, on TV, on the trail and at debates. More than $100M later, neither has broken open the race. #gapol
.@ajconwashington reports that Georgia Congressman David Scott has died. He was in a contested primary and was seeking to run for a 13th term.

In this @ajc editorial (penned by me on behalf of our editorial board), we urge @GovKemp to call a special session of the GA General Assembly to solve a looming crisis about how citizens vote in elections in the Peach State.

@irritatedpleb@EWErickson@ajc It's free to sign up, but this also is a way to keep in touch with new and potential subscribers. We welcome your investment in local journalism.
Our top opinion column today involves a bill passed by the Georgia State Senate that would petition the federal government to move the Peach State from the Eastern Time to yearround Atlantic Standard Time. For part of the year, that would put us an hour ahead of New York and two hours ahead of Nashville.
@ajc contributor @EWErickson minces no words about what he believes is bipartisan foolishness. That would make for very late nights anytime University of Georgia plays Alabama, he argues.
This is a gift link so you can get a taste of the AJC and I welcome you to check out the breadth and depth of the coverage.

.@ATLairport is the world's busiest airport. Security lines have been ridiculously long due to partial govt. shutdown. ICE agents are now at ATL. @ajc is covering the situation in this live blog. Stay informed as you're making your travel plans.

I listened to episodes 1 and 2 this morning. It was riveting! I like the combination of true crime, history and intrigue. The Guidestones last for 42 years in Elberton, Georgia before they were destroyed in an explosion in 2022.
For the @ajc, I wrote about WHO BLEW UP THE GUIDESTONES? and the two mysteries that bookended the strange monument's tumultuous 42-year lifespan.
And as everyone knows, the only thing better than one mystery is two.
π¨ Episodes 1 & 2 are out March 17, a week from tomorrow! π¨
.@ajc contributor @EWErickson 's latest colum is about how Rick Jackson's entry into the Republican gubernatorial primary has finally made this race "exciting." He contrasts Jackson with @burtjonesforga who is the Trump-endorsed candidate.
