It was a pleasure to give the Alpena Exchange Club a tour of Alpena High School and finish the evening with the Alpena High School Choir Concert!

I had the opportunity to visit a 3rd grade classroom recently. The passion and excitement for math was amazing!! I need to practice my math facts. 9 3rd graders completed their math facts before I did! The pressure was palpable! I will be back to redeem myself!

On Friday, I had the opportunity to join Principal Bourdage and Community Risk Reduction Captain, Andy Marceau at the top of APFD’s Platform ladder. What a beautiful view of the high school and the Alpena area!

Today @Alpena_Schools observed Veteran’s Day. Thanks to the Alpena Exchange Club and the Alpena Fire and Police Departments for making our Veteran’s Day ceremony a memorable one. Thanks to all our Veterans who served and sacrificed for our country.

The planning for the Safe, Warm, Dry Bond work at the high school is progressing nicely! Over $10 million in upgrades to our 60+ year old high school. @ClarkConstructs @Alpena_Schools

Elem. Principals, the Dir. of Special Pops, and I did instructional rounds today at Hinks and Besser. We saw excellent teaching, calibrated our interpretations of Danielson, and witnessed a tooth fall out in Kindergarten! We always thank the teachers for welcoming us!

5 hockey games, a swim meet, Alpena, Cheboygan, and Saginaw all in two days. We’ll rest some other time!! Go Wildcats Swim and Alpena Hockey!!

The Wilson community had a wonderful Trunk or Treat event tonight. I am glad my wife and I could be a part of it! So many people came out and had a fun evening with their school community!

The Wilson Community School staff meeting was excellent this morning. 99% participation in Parent Teacher Conferences! Way to partner with parents! MStep data review to focus on raising student achievement, school safety, evaluation and more! The Wilson Community is amazing!

Sanborn Elementary invited families in to enjoy their Harvest Dinner. The turn out was amazing! Thanks to everyone for coming and for putting this event on. Thanks, too for all the former APS employees who came back again to support their district and community!

@HWschools is implementing an Intense Student Support Network @Blueprint_SWFT. We held a "Real Men Stand Up" Dinner for men who want to support our students. The turnout showed that our students are not alone! They have many they can count on for support!
