Since mostly withdrawing from X and using Bluesky it has proven to be a lot more civilised. Sometimes you may need to examine your buy in to the burnout society and mind your head.
I have just turned off Elon Musks alerts and the silence is lovely. He might do well to remember the words of Heraclitus who is credited with saying that ‘Dogs bark at what they don't understand.’ He seems to be doing quite a lot of barking recently
AI tech that is trustworthy and reliable enough that its products are accepted as high quality evidence aren’t very far-off (in theory) but unlikely to exist as yet ‘Chatbots offer cops the “ultimate out” to spin police reports, expert says | Ars Technica’ https://t.co/z5CsFL3kK1
Personally it was good to hear that AI and technology are high up the agenda. @ShabanaMahmood faces enormous challenges but if the loud reception in the Atrium yesterday was any indication then she can rely on the enthusiastic support of the MoJ
Great to see a jam-packed @MoJGovUK atrium to hear our new Lord Chancellor & Secretary of State @ShabanaMahmood . A major focus on how the whole justice system can deliver for the country - & on collaboration, tech, & a one team approach.
New publication alert! 'Probation as social work' in the @ProbationJnl. I argue that (as everyone knows in their heart and despite political posturing) #probation is and always has been social work. Acknowledging this would enhance policy and practice https://t.co/PLwX7cwpUd

(02/02) Our Academic Insight ‘Professionalism in Probation’ by @matt_tidmarsh from November 2022, was referenced at #WCCP2024 in a parallel session ‘Probation and Parole; Occupation or profession?’ led by William Burrell.
A great opportunity to hear about evidence informed policy from other jurisdictions that in some cases is arguably more effective in delivering best practice. Let’s be open to learning about what works well elsewhere and be brave in our research informed recommendations.
(01/02) The sixth World Congress on Probation and Parole was a fantastic opportunity to hear from leaders, practitioners, academics and those with lived experience from across the globe. It was a chance to consider best practice, shared challenges and future solutions.
