I woke up this morning feeling angry about congress’s solution yesterday to the economic crisis, wasn’t exactly sure why. Then read this tweet and realized why I felt angry.
Basically an asteroid is on a collision course with Earth and Congress just did the absolute best it could, which was to find a ragtag group of offshore oil drillers and pay them each ten billion dollars, not to train for a space mission to destroy it, but because they wanted it.

@scottsantens Because paychecks are usually delayed a little people will get paid next week on work they did last week and the week before. The next paycheck in two weeks will be small or non existent. First weeks of April it will hit the fan unless checks go out. They must see that, right?
