In this late-90s segment from The Chris Rock Show, Rock goes to South Carolina and turns a heated political debate into pure street comedy. He listens to locals, then casually floats replacement flags — including one with Malcolm X in Confederate colors and another covered in cheese. The timing and deadpan delivery make the whole exchange feel effortless.
What stands out years later is how he manages to roast both sides without turning the bit into a lecture. It’s sharp, uncomfortable, and still funny in a way a lot of current commentary isn’t.

A reminder that good comedy can talk about charged subjects without losing the joke.
