#EchoValley may feel directly ripped from the pages of an aeroplane hardback thriller and tumbles into absurdity by act 3, but excellent turns from Julianne Moore, Fiona Show and an underused Sydney Sweeney keep this messy narrative afloat and engaging!
#DeepCover is one of the more entertaining crime comedies of the year. Committed performances, vibrant action set pieces and a strong kinetic energy means the film rarely drags, and while I wish it leaned more into it’s improv premise I was consistently chuckling throughout!
@ImJustLW @dannybo1_ I would’ve been fine with the same finish if Cody snapped at Cena’s cheating and bloodied him, then Cena did the beg off, Cody realised he’d gone too far and that’s when Cena pounces with the low blow. Like Cody isn’t ruthless enough to finish the job and his morality cost him
@IanDavidNoakes@DiscussingFilm Honestly, being released too early. For the most part it got huge acclaim from audiences and critics. It fell behind and lost the recency bias other films have in their favour. I think the same thing happened with Sing Sing, which I think would’ve done better released earlier
@howatdk I am obsessed with Wander to Wonder, haven’t seen all the shorts but of the ones I have seen it appealed to me the most. I just hope it’s not too blackly macabre for the Oscar’s over more sentimental choices
Reviving this Twitter account to say that my first opinion article has just been posted to @wraslinrepublic. @zarazakher is set to take the wrestling world by storm and I wanted to showcase just what a gem WWE may have on their hands! Remember the name!!
@NextBestPicture @fiImgal So many incredible shots from Come and See, but it’s always this expression that really stays with me. The maniacal laughter as an atrocity unfolds really haunted me the first time I saw it
@JoshGreshamORG @wraslinrepublic No worries! I work as part of the WR team and recently we’ve seen more and more of our posts get cropped and reposted without credit. It’s a really frustrating problem so I just wanted to make sure our very talented designer got the credit he deserved for putting them together!
@theBurk3nator It will most likely end up on the BBC’s iPlayer service and the film will stay on Netflix in the USA and most other territories. There is precedent for this. I know the streaming issue is extremely scary but in this case I feel the headline is more scaremongering than the reality
@theBurk3nator Just wanted to clarify. This is not a tax issue, it is a licensing issue. The film distribution rights in the UK I believe belong to the BBC, and Netflix’s right to use that film in the UK has expired so it’s reverted back to the BBC.
@patricktheheel Promo wise Wayne was perfectly good for his position in the independents where promos are useful but not essential. His in ring charisma is higher than his verbal charisma, but he’s still young and has plenty of time to grow in that department as he advances
