Today, we join Americans across the country in saluting the Stars and Stripes and reflecting with gratitude on the many freedoms we enjoy under its banner because of the sacrifices of those who came before us. Long may it wave!

The VCDSA endorses Jeff Gorell @vcd2sup as Ventura County Supervisor for the Second District. He has demonstrated steadfast support for public safety, championing initiatives to enhance the safety of our neighborhoods. See our full list of endorsements at https://t.co/rgPf2lfsZA.
The VCDSA endorses @DavidTennessen for re-election to Camarillo City Council. As a retired chief deputy who served with the VCSO for more than three decades, he understands the importance of supporting public safety. See our full list of endorsements at https://t.co/rgPf2lfsZA.
I had the honor today to attend another solemn and beautiful Memorial Day event at Conejo Mountain Memorial. I believe it is their 58th year of this tribute to the women and men that died in service of our country.
I am so thankful for everyone that showed up to witness the results of a dream. The KidSTREAM Children’s museum officially opened today.
As I was sitting in the audience contemplating my comments, it hit me. I discarded my prepared comments and spoke from the heart.
In what I considered a moment of inspiration, I formally recognized the efforts of Kristi Akl’s contribution. The name of this Children’s museum should be Kristi’s DREAM = KidSTREAM. Kristi planted the seed. Bryan Yee and other board members watered the seed. The community and the City of Camarillo continued to cultivate the soil. Today, we witnessed the harvest of the dream planted seed.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this accomplishment. I’d like to extend my gratitude to former councilmembers Jan McDonald, Charlotte Craven and Shawn Mulchay for their foresight as part of Council to move this project forward. To the current council, Susan Santangelo, Martita Martinez-Bravo, Kevin Kildee and Tony Trembley for continuing to support this effort.
Another endorsement from a phenomenal public servant. Thank you Monica McGrath. Monica is a former Camarillo Police Chief and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Undersheriff (Ret). Thank you Monica.
In May, we recognize National Public Works Week and the professionals who help maintain the infrastructure and essential services our City relies on every day.
Thank you to our Public Works team for your continued hard work, expertise, and service to the community. 💙
The Camarillo Police Department would like to thank La Miraposa Elementary School for inviting us to speak with your TK and kindergarten students on bike safety and wearing helmets. The students had a good time seeing the different types of police vehicles.
National Public Works Week may be coming to an end, but public works never sleeps! We continue the work that keeps Camarillo moving—from maintaining streets and traffic systems to advancing capital projects, water/wastewater infrastructure, transit, and sustainability projects.
🚔 The Ventura County Sheriff's Office is participating in the Click It or Ticket campaign through May 31, with extra patrols focused on seat belt and child safety seat enforcement. Seat belts and proper car seats save lives. #ClickItOrTicket#BuckleUp
