You may be familiar with the Tao Te Ching and its rich wisdom. But today’s Half Price Books find is a wonderful dialogue of Dudeism with this ancient text. Hence: The Dude De Ching. This book is sure to tie my whole library together.
Me and my lovely beautiful great soul of a friend, Marissa at Black Sabbath’s The End tour. Sadly lost Marissa tragically in 2020 from an accident in her home. If there’s an “other side” (Ozzy reference), the Marissa and Ozzy are sharing some laughs and some metal.
@DevorahLeah Much if not most of my personal library is from used bookstores. It’s always a joy to find something I’ve wanted in an original edition. Used bookstores are adventures!
@DonaldJTrumpJr Besides the fact you obviously know nothing about cancer diagnosis, you make this tasteless comment about a woman whose doctorate is in education, not medical science. You’re ridiculous and a disgrace.
I won’t share RFK Jr.’s lies about autism.
It’s disgusting and dangerous.
If he had a shred of decency, he would apologize and resign.
Autistic people contribute every day to our nation’s greatness.
To every kid with autism, I’m in this fight all the way for you.
Let me make this absolutely clear. Last night bombers took off, drones were launched and missiles were fired from Russia.
Ukrainian air defences knew they were coming, but had no idea what their targets were, because the President of the United States prohibited vital intelligence to be shared with battlefield commanders.
Last night Donald Trump actively assisted an indicted war criminal to murder Ukrainian civilians. America’s president is now a MURDERER as well as a convicted felon. I’m sure Putin will present him with a medal when he visits Moscow.
Most of my wardrobe is black (makes laundry day a breeze), but today in class I was wearing this Docker’s shirt with stripes mostly blue-ish and red.
Student: “You’re wearing old man clothes today.”
🤣🤣🤣
"The time, it is to be hoped, is gone by when any defense would be necessary of the 'liberty of the press' as one of the securities against corrupt or tyrannical government."
John Stuart Mill, On Liberty (1859)
That time has not gone by.
In my LinkedIn profile, I get an email from a recruiter hiring philosophy PhD's like me to review high level questions to ensure that the next generation of AI models will not make errors. So, I am supposed to help develop AI to replace me by making sure it can do its job well.
