3/ Lastly, as someone who loves cold coffee drinks, the cold brew and cold espresso recipes are really nice. They use a little different grind settings and brew much slower and at different temps, creating lighter, sweeter beverages than simply pulling a normal shot over ice. Perhaps not essential, but a nice thing to have. I suspect the 2nd thermojet in the group head enables the temp control necessary to make these drinks? Could be wrong, but possible. Last few details that I missed earlier: the 58mm portafilter is larger, heavier and more robust than the 54mm filter for the TI. Feels like a tank. The move of the temp probe from the tray to the wand tip makes the work area feel significantly more spacious. 10 oz more water capacity in the tank is nice as well. Summing up my feelings, again, I absolutely love the TI, I just made some amazing beverages with it earlier tonight. At $1200 or as close to $1000 as possible, I think it's a great value and a terrific machine. However, after a couple of days of using the Oracle Jet, the $2000 price tag seems worth it. It does everything the TI does but better and more consistently. Considering the marketing on Breville's website, I was actually surprised to find how notable the improvements on the Jet were in practice. There are diminishing returns here, and aside from the cold drink recipes and OTA updates, there's not much the Jet can do that the TI can't--it's just that the Oracle Jet can do them all better, consistently. Can't go wrong either way! Cheers to great coffee drinks all around.
1/ Congratulations on your purchase! The Touch Impress is a fantastic machine—I absolutely love it. So, I purchased the Oracle Jet and got it yesterday. 😅 I visit my mother often, and she had a Philips machine that couldn't create the beverages I wanted. Seeing the new Ninja Cafe Luxe splashed all over coffee YT recently, I thought I'd try it since it appeared to be a great value at $500. It *is* a great value in that it delivers a lot of functionality at the price. Still, it feels cheap, the accessories feel cheap, the grinder sucks (I was always at the finest or next to finest setting for a medium roast), I couldn't get it dialed in to deliver espresso the way I like consistently, the steam wand is too weak and not being insulated was a turn-off (burned myself), and the auto steam function was not impressive at all (using whole dairy milk). For every dollar saved compared to a Breville, the Ninja felt 2x more cheaply made. I returned the Ninja, took the Touch Impress to my mom's, and bought the Oracle Jet. I could always buy 2 Touch Impress units if I didn't like the Jet. Turns out, I REALLY like the Jet, so I thought I'd share my thoughts here since we've had this dialogue, and who knows, maybe it will benefit someone else later on. I agree with you that the Touch Impress is a great value, but the Jet has more going for it than first glance would suggest—I'm just not sure Breville is doing a great job of highlighting the improvements/benefits over their other units. Personally, I did not want dual boilers since I drink coffee often and at random times throughout the day and even into the night. I would not want to wait 20-30 minutes for a machine to warm up. The brew temp advantages of dual boilers are already minimal/negligible compared to thermojet units as long as you're not making a bunch of drinks at once and are even more negligible thanks to the second thermojet in the group head of the Oracle Jet. I am also not at all bothered by not brewing and steaming simultaneously—the time added is so minimal, and I like watching the extraction. So, the Oracle Jet is the first Oracle I would consider anyway—I'm the customer they had in mind here. The unit is slightly larger than the TI but looks overall very similar, except for the larger display, slick LED tray lighting, and THICK steam wand (it is not the same wand as the TI). The TI is already a beautiful machine, in my opinion, and the details I mentioned on the Jet just add to the effect. The display and LED lighting, in particular, make it look quite premium. It also makes cool sounds, and the display seems like a work of art. Super responsive, bright, quick, and vivid, especially in the dark mode. I already received an OTA update that added recipes, which is very appealing. It may help future-proof the machine, and I wish the TI could also get OTA updates. The wheels on the bottom, the front water level display, and the ability to add water from the top front all add convenience.
You posted this link regarding life expectancy as if it’s a defense of modern American health policy and/or vaccines. It’s not (just read it, for crying out loud). Even within the text you linked, the recent drop in life expectancy should at least cause question, if not outright condemnation, of health policy.
@Cernovich Trump’s judgement of character (and resulting hiring choices) were *the* biggest flaw of his first term, and it’s not even close. We should *all* be on the highest alert for signs of questionable hires and should sound the alarm on all fronts when we see them. 🚨
@dr_obbs Really appreciate your content. I get a very substantial amount of info regarding RB’s performance from your posts and am simply grateful you take the time to write the posts. Thanks and please keep it up! 👍
lol this is so crazy. I am a huge Novak fan…but I will never understand why some fans of each of the big 3 insist on denigrating rival players. These guys are all human, they’ve all made mistakes, they’ve had issues with each other in the past, and that is all 100% *normal*. But, it’s clear that they respect each other and get along at this point, and as they all love tennis, they recognize what each has done for the sport. Novak is such a sportsman, and I’ve always appreciated how respectfully he treated his opponents win or lose. It’s one of his best qualities. As a fan, why would you not seek to emulate or at least honor some of his best qualities? Is it *only* his ability to fight that draws you to him? It’s just so strange. Not to mention, it must have been an exhausting 20 years for you intensely hating the guys who shared the court with Nole for so long. 😅 I think they all made mistakes along the way, especially when they were younger, but they grew into legends who understood the blessings they received and the responsibility to use their positions to make the sport and even the world a better place. They go about it in very different ways, just like their tennis, but I’m thankful for that and I’m thankful to have seen them all play. I’m also thankful Novak is still strong and motivated, and I’m rooting for him to win again this year! 💪🏻
No, you’re not stating the obvious. You are speculating and assigning intent contrary to the information at hand. It’s a bit sad and discouraging that I have to explain this to a “US Attorney”, but these are the facts we know: a legendary British player asks a young, aspiring British player if she’d like to play his final Wimby match together. She says yes, then feels discomfort in her wrist which threatens a potentially career-altering Wimbledon run. She makes what she describes as a “very difficult decision” to withdraw, states that Andy Murray understood, a claim which appears validated by the fact Judy Murray seemed unwilling to criticize Emma once emotions calmed. Based on the reverence she’s used to speak of Andy previously, a reasonable assumption would be that she felt honored to be asked to play with him, and without going too far in the weeds, she was clearly comfortable enough with the situation and her health to say yes. When circumstances changed, it is fair to say she prioritized her health, career, and all that entails (team, family, etc), by withdrawing. We can agree or disagree with her decision, but saying she merely prioritized her ego is unfair, insulting and derogatory. That’s why people took issue with your post. So, no, you weren’t stating the obvious, you were being nasty. Also, people disagreeing with you isn’t necessarily an attack on you, and after being so aggressive yourself, playing the victim is beyond tedious. I realize no one online ever admits they could have misstepped, so I don’t expect different here. However, in case there’s more humanity here than your bio might suggest, consider adding a modicum of humility to your repertoire and you might find it easier to avoid rushing to judgement and generally making an ass of yourself.
