@ThePaulLaidlaw My Great Uncle was killed in France on the 25th October 1918, aged 19. I have a letter from him to his family dated 21st October.
It shows a boy putting on a brave face but desperately missing his family. His last line "I am simply A1 at Lloyds". So poignant.

@swinburne_mark Frank Clark's last season before he joined second division Nottingham Forest on a free transfer. There he won the 1st Division title, two League Cups and the European Cup for good measure. Still cracks me up now.
