A fossil fuelled boiler is by definition a carbon emitter, where an electric heat pump may be using some/all zero carbon electricity. The point on high kW AC is we don't "normally" need it

@JoeBarnes136917 @MrJamesMay The alternative to a heat pump (if you're talking about heating) is a gas/oil boiler which is more polluting than an electric heat pump - so heat pump is good 👍. For cooling in the UK, most of the year a fan is enough, rather than energy hungry AC. Run AC off solar for the win

@MartinSLewis All the local ones I pass are still updated regularly. I have an EV and there are very few places that advertise that price, I only know of one that has a price sign.
