@JoeBarnes136917@MrJamesMay TBH, I wasn't really talking about efficiency, but fuel source leading to carbon emissions. A fossil fuelled boiler is by definition a carbon emitter, where an electric heat pump may be using some/all zero carbon electricity. The point on high kW AC is we don't "normally" need it
@JoeBarnes136917@MrJamesMay The alternative to a heat pump (if you're talking about heating) is a gas/oil boiler which is more polluting than an electric heat pump - so heat pump is good π. For cooling in the UK, most of the year a fan is enough, rather than energy hungry AC. Run AC off solar for the win
@ChadWeather must say it didn't feel too oppressive when I went out in Greenfield this afternoon, blazing in the sun but the shade was quite pleasant with an ever so slight breeze βοΈ
@CarolineOrdHume@BritishArmy@NATO do you think the enemy wouldn't figure out which underground locations might get used? I very much doubt this precise location would be the one if the time comes - it is an exercise π
@CliveRoper@NOWTV it has stopped working on 2 LG tvs and an amazon firestick for me, but working fine on my phone. Funnily enough the tv/stick apps had all been logged out (and updated maybe?) and I needed to log in first, then the error.
@MartinSLewis All the local ones I pass are still updated regularly. I have an EV and there are very few places that advertise that price, I only know of one that has a price sign.
@MENnewsdesk "it stands just 78cm too tall. Ian Buswell and his wife Bethany put up the 5.8 foot fence" - what a wonderful mashup of metric and imperial, and is that an intended 5.8 or maybe 5'8", who knows π
@MENnewsdesk "Axed" ? They are cancelled today due to points failure, axed suggests (to me) removed from the daily schedule. Not sure it helps those that might be travelling today as it doesn't come across as a current temporary issue.
