@AGLEnergy's grid-scale battery at Torrens Island is approaching commercial operation! ElectraNet has now executed the Transmission Connection Agreement, following the approval of performance standards by @AEMO_Energy and our team. Read more about this customer project 👇
I'm so pleased @AGLEnergy has partnered with @Foodbank_SA to support SA families in need.
Half our support will go to the Woodville Food Hub, which services families near our Torrens Island Power Station. We’re also excited to volunteer at Foodbank through this partnership!
We’re privileged to have doubled our support for @Foodbank_SA, forging a partnership to provide about 100,000 meals each year to South Australian families in need.
It’s been awesome watching this project unfold this year on Torrens Island! The 250 MW Torrens battery will be charging/discharging by mid next year, contributing to grid security and helping lower wholesale power prices in South Australia
This week, we welcomed @DEM_sagov and the Office of Hydrogen Power SA (#OHPSA) to Torrens to provide an update on our #hydrogen study and plans for the site to be converted into an integrated, low-carbon industrial #EnergyHub, delivering #energy and #jobs for the future.
We’re partnering with @ARENA_aus in a study to determine the viability of using a thermal battery to power a steam turbine at Torrens!
This is one of the first feasibility studies to look at how a thermal battery could reduce costs & lower emissions for gas-fired power stations.
We’re installing a #microgrid powered by a five-hectare #solar farm the size of two Melbourne Cricket Grounds and #battery at its Sunraysia almond orchard!
The project will help power irrigation at the orchard and provide 5.2GWh of #RenewableEnergy to the site.
We continue to make progress on our 2.9 GW #renewable & storage developments pipeline including the 250 MW Torrens Island #GridScaleBattery, which is expected to be operating by mid-2023, the 50 MW Broken Hill #battery, the 500 MW Liddell battery, and the 200 MW Loy Yang battery.
The 390-tonne superload has passed through Adelaide’s north this morning on its final route to arrive at the Torrens Island Power Station. Did you see it? #theAdvertiser @kittybadelaide https://t.co/N3UR9bb8cb
The eight-strong consortium examining a hydrogen plant in Adelaide also includes partners from major Asian corporates in Japan and South Korea. https://t.co/CHLCIT3yDh
An exciting step forward today for the future of Torrens Island Power Station with @AGLAustralia launching a feasibility study into the development of a green hydrogen production facility on the site, in conjunction with major Australian and international industry partners
We’ve signed a Memorandum of Understanding with industry partners to study the development of #GreenHydrogen at #TorrensIsland Power Station in #SA!
The project will explore a wide range of potential uses for #hydrogen#power which could serve local businesses & export markets.
