After living with my Indian gf for a year, we’ve learned what to do when sick. Chinese ppl eat soup - clear broth w/ veg, some protein - cooked down nutrients… easy on the gut.

@minjinlee11 I think like many Americans who grew up in immigrant families, Asian struggle with finding an identity separate from our parents. It’s this insecurity that leads to us being overly critical of our parents… We’re just constantly trying to declare how we’re not our parents.

At what point does a food get its original namesake in common English?
When did we accept fried noodles as chow mein? Mexican wraps become burritos? I’ve seen naan referred to as Indian tortillas. 🤣
