Jeremy Clarkson is urging men to get checked for prostate cancer after two brushes with death in a matter of months

Jeremy Clarkson aged 66 had emergency heart surgery in 2024 where he was fitted with two life saving stents and was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in May 2025 after a routine medical showed high prostate specific antigen levels leading to scans and a biopsy.

He had a secret operation using high intensity focused ultrasound in August which zapped the tumour without damaging surrounding tissue and is now in remission 11 months later.

Clarkson said this is why I have to say to everybody who is reading this please please please go and get checked it is not uncomfortable it is not undignified and it is a no brainer I did and that is why I am sitting here talking to you 11 months down the line.

He said, with trademark bluntness: 'Prostate cancer is now more common even than breast cancer. I don't want to belittle breast cancer in any way but really, to check your breasts, you've just got to play with them...'

Clarkson described himself as without a doubt officially the worlds luckiest man and has joined forces with former prime minister Lord Cameron and Soho House co founder Nick Jones to raise awareness of the disease.

My husband and I both had covid in August of 2021. We both became VERY SICK. Our blood oxygen was in the low 80's.
