It’s a shame Miran is not back at the Fed. We need his common sense approach, it’s sorely lacking.
The Keynesian Group think at the Fed want rate hikes.
Think about that, as inflation cools, into a supply shock, with housing in a recession, which goes against basic economic theory. Can’t make this stuff up.
@GianMassimoUsai Esatto.
@Ricchei Non è pazzo, è solo show.
🚨 HOLY CRAP! Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent is reportedly gearing up to REVOKE the tax-exempt status of nonprofits including George Soros' Open Society Foundation, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and the SPLC — NYP
The operation might result in CIVIL PENALTIES too
Make it happen, Secretary Bessent! 🔥
The move could target MULTIPLE leftist nonprofits because they ABUSE their tax-exempt status.
This is MASSIVELY overdue!
This was made possible by a Trump executive order from last year. Bessent recently said:
"Treasury is expanding its efforts to identify organizations that abuse charitable and nonprofit structures as vehicles for illicit finance."
"We are examining where tax exempt status has been exploited, where charitable entities have become financial conduits for foreign influence activity and how those entrusted with stewardship of these organizations have instead enabled violence, where the evidence leads we will not hesitate to follow and of course we will hold these organizations, officers, directors, accountable and just as financial institution must know their clients they must know their grantees."
"That work is well underway."
The amount of work that went into making sure Iran doesn’t weaponize the Strait to provoke a gigantic economic crisis and preventing it from involving other countries to expand the theater is very much under appreciated.
There won’t be democracy and liberty overnight, but a Middle East focused on business, work, industry rather than "revolutionary wars" that benefit Iran and terrorists is possible
There's lots of speculation the AI buildout is driving up government bond yields because it's competing for capital. Such a phenomenon did occur in the IT bubble of the early 2000s when the corporate sector became a dis-saver. But that's not true now...

It was obvious since the beginning of the war that the Strait of Hormuz card was only going to be useful against the United States if 1/ Iran had a good relationship with Gulf countries, but it ended up hitting them as well, forcing them to diversify and join the war, and 2/ if IRGC was able to hold it long enough to provoke a global economic crisis which they couldn’t do.
